Hi
Has anyone tried the Gerson Therapy? I’m running out of conventional treatments and so am looking at alternatives. I know that this is labour intensive and very expensive. If anyone has any experience of it - good or bad - please let me know.

Hello Hope333,
We have some information on the Gerson diet here. It can cause some very serious side effects and is potentially harmful. All conventional cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, have to go through rigorous testing by law in order to prove that they work. Most alternative therapies have not been through such testing and there is no scientific evidence that they work. If you're considering using any complementary or alternative therapies, always talk to your doctor, GP or specialist nurse.
Warm regards,

I agree. Some of the “stuff” on the Internet could be downright dangerous. It’s the same with the “to fast or not to fast” before chemotherapy. As a diabetic, fasting is not a good regime to follow. Can you imagine the repercussions of following these suggestions - and that’s what they are - if I wasn’t so paranoid about my diet? I’m about to start chemotherapy and already stressing about the side effects and trying to stay diabetic healthy. I’ve read about the Gerson diet and it seems hard work, although I do think if there’s nowhere else to go........
