I'm falling apart because of Cancer

Having breast cancer for 9 months, just destroyed my life,  my savings,  my job, myself.

Being foreign doesn't help,  because I don't know what to expect or do for have some support.  I got to the point of not going to radiotherapy session because I haven't money to top up the oyster.  After everything we been through,  we achieve that point of misery.

I'm sorry my lack of hope, but for now I have no idea how tomorrow is gonna be.

Thank you for just reading.

  • Oh Sandra, your post made me sad....I too am going through breast cancer...currently enduring chemotherapy.....then it's rads....

where abouts are you? Have you tried asking the hospital about transport? If they can't provide hospital transport they may well have a list of volunteers who specifically do the hospital runs...but you have to ask , this information isn't usually readily available....

Do you have a breast cancer nurse? ( you should have) you really need to talk it all through with her, she is the best placed person to put you in touch with the necessary help......failing all that....call the citizens advise bureau.....tell them your whole story......they should be able to point you in the right direction.

This whole cancer thing is bad enough, I'm so sorry your struggling......get on the phone.....talk to someone.....I hope you get the help you need and deserve xxxxx

  • Hi Sandra

sorry to hear your situation, I have bladder cancer and 2017 I was in the similar position struggling!!!

i popped to Macmillan office and asked if someone could explain how to get advice on grants.  I was asked to fill in a form and write my needs then given a couple of weeks I received a £200 grant for basic needs.

i then made an appointment with the finance person who was wonderful she put me on to ESA, job seeker as you can apply for a benefit if you have cancer and this is discussed and if agreed paid fortnightly.

also your specialised nurse needs to sign the form and provide details of your condition.

I was cancer free a year however I’ve had multiple reoccurances with carcinoma cis x 2 so I have been having BCG treatments just had no 5th and completed my second form now I wait for a response.

Good luck please ask MacMillian they were great for me.
