Fatigue post radiotherapy and chemo

Hi everyone, I finished 6 weeks of radiotherapy and chemo for brain cancer last Friday and I am really struggling with being constantly tired. I literally feel like all I do is sleep and have no energy to do anything. Everyone I speak to tells me “it’s normal” but  I feel so fed up. I know I’m only one week post treatment but I’m struggling big time. Any tips on how to manage this would be greatly received. My friends and family are great but I’m not sure they get just how bad it is or the impact it’s having on me

  • The oly thing what has helped me , was walking. I know it's hard, but try to get up and excercise ... and it will be a long time with Fatique, took around two months for me.

  • Hi there ...

Your bodies been through trauma ... chemo plus radiation will wipe the strongest out ... l know you feel frustrated... but hay be kind to your self .. it's like a baby wanting to run, but first he has to crawl, then walk ..

There's lots you can do .. get on a pad .. play some games on it, time goes faster then .. watch the t.v .. listen to music .. read a good book .. let your body take baby steps ... stop getting fustrated with it .. start with gentle exercise. ...

If you keep pushing too hard, you will end up fustrated and angry .. this life now is rush, rush, rush .. everyone and everything goes at a quick pace .. try to aprieciate this time .. really talk to those close .. yes it's a hard road .. nothing about cancer is easy .. but your here today ... take each day and make the most of those days wer given .. and be kind to your body .. you may want to do lots, but your body needs to heal ...
