After having 30+ lymph nodes cleared and only one not testing positive for cancer can someone tell me I'm going to be OK , I don't feel like I'm getting straight answers

Hi Garry,
Welcome to our forum, although I'm sorry for the reason you've joined.
It is most unusual not to be given straight answers if you ask the right questions. Unfortunately, we are not doctors and we do not have access to your medical records, so we cannot predict your outcome.
Why not draw up a list of direct questions for your consultant? I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 9 years and, had a similar experience, until I took my hubby to all of my appointments. I armed him with a duplicate list of questions and, he wrote down the answers as I asked the consultant my questions.
CanI ask what type of cancer you have?
I sincerely hope that you get some answers soon. We are always here for you, so please let us know how you get on.
Kind regards,
Jolamine
Hi Garry,
Sorry you've found yourself on the forum but welcome!
As Jolamine says we're not doctors and, even if we were, I'm sure you realise how different everyone's situation is.
I definitely agree with asking direct questions. The only thing is in doing that you have to be prepared for the answers. Some people would prefer not to know.
You haven't said much about what type of cancer you have or what your diagnosis is but we're all here if we can be of any support to you. I've found this place invaluable since being diagnosed back in early summer and hope you will too.
If you want please take the time to introduce yourself and let us know a bit about what is happening with you.
Take care,
LJ
If you're not satisfied that you're getting enough information from your consultant, then you are quite entitled to ask for a second opinion from another consultant. Definitely make a list of questions that you want to ask them and take them to your appointment.
The consultant shouldn't keep anything from you, and even if you don't understand their answers (due to the technical medical jargon that they often come out with) just keep asking them until you can understand what they say.
I used to badger my wife's consultant all the time for information, probably to the point that they got fed up with me asking them questions, they had no choice but to talk to me because I wouldn't leave them alone until I had answers.
One tip... Get hold of your consultant's secretary's phone number and never be afraid to call them up and ask questions, or request a call back.
Keep at it;).
