I had the above surgery yesterday and I know its early but I feel awful. I feel like I've been kicked in my back and sides, my sentinel wound seems to have been bleeding is all this 'normal'?
Hi, the day after surgery was worst for me too. I felt like I’d been stabbed with a bread knife and run over by a tank. Things did improve quite rapidly after that so hang in there.
Take all the pain killers offered. Ask for more if it’s not enough. I was on various things. Liquid morphine, codeine etc.
Any surgery on the lymph nodes brings additional wounds/recovery time and I had some bleeding from the 2 drain wounds. ( I had a mastectomy and lymph node clearance). If you’re concerned about your wounds though ask the doctor/nurses.
