fearful

I suspect that I am the less than 1 a year person who may have a tumor in my ear. The symptoms I have had for many years all fit.I get a lot of pain in my ear around the ear with some facial pain and headaches. I always suspected that something else was wrong when no-one could explain my strange hearing losses. I wear one hearing aid at the moment but cannot face any diagnosis as it is so vague whether or not they can even confirm if a tumor was there and to have anything done would require horrific surgery and I would lose the slight hearing I still have and life would definitely not be worth living then. I always have hoped for a miracle so if anyone knows a way forward that I am not seeing please reply to me.

  • Hi patsy33. Welcome to the forum.

Without knowing more history it's difficult to offer any advice. In addition to hearing loss and pain, what other symptoms do you get (balance problems, facial paralysis, etc)? How long have you had symptoms? Are the symptoms getting worse? When did you last see an ENT specialist?  What scans (CT/MRI) have you had, when, and what were the results?

Possibly if you can provide this information, someone will be able to offer some advice.

Meanwhile, have you tried getting information at the Rare Cancer Alliance website?
