Hi RadioactiveRez hi yes I know exactly what you mean I had been sleeping fairly well for me which challenge in itself.problems that you have thought about for days and day and can't chat will then decide come into brain at night.i think mine are chemo night mares and sweats plus it's hot anyway.going for scans tests anything new always unsettling and takes me few days settle .good luck at your treatment once you have plan you should feel settled a bit .I had scare few years ago I had my tonsils out but fortunately no cancer .take care

judt knowing that someone out there who isn’t family replying is a big help.

Slept quite well last night consultant meeting went well and the dreaded mask fitting wasn’t too bad.7 weeks Monday -Friday radiation plus 2/3 chemotherapy sessions in total .

silly as it sounds now I know a plan I have something to concentrate on Plus consultant is brill and inspires me full of confidence

After a life time with "plans", both work and personal, to make them, with lots of back-ups and what-ifs, is what keeps me going. It's not being able to control stuff that hurts. 

"Plus consultant is brill and inspires me full of confidence" A big plus. I'm not easily impressed by medics simply because of their (assumed) status and I will not be "talked down to" just because their qualifications are in a different subject to mine. For my tongue excision the man seemed straight across and pretty blunt - suited me fine.

And in my view, learn what you can about the process and procedures. There are, I'm told by my oldest surviving school friend, a retired GP, many reputable studies that show that "expert patients" achieve better outcomes.

When I was working I needed to know lots of info about lots of different things I was a business travel consultant planning anything from major conference to entire tv production s travel or maybe a sinke rail ticket. My motto was I was only has good as my last booking so research research and more research git me 35 years in a job  I lived prior to the internet taking iver Yes u am as guilty as everyone very few use a travel agent as we can all do it from the comfort of our armchairs 

So am perusing my diagnosis as well as I can without going overboard on stupid sites sticking to recognised ones and learning bits as I go along.

Hi your welcome I'm found this site and learnt how use it soon after diagnosis mine is bowel and liver and I think I kept coming up more where breast cancer ladies are but they all been lovely and it's sort reassuring to see there names .yes once you have appointment etc I think it's cos you know something being done .good luck
