I had a mastectomy with immediate reconctrucrion on my right breast beast in June 2017 with sentinel lymph node biopsy. The final histology revealed that there was 33mm of high grade DCIS, which was fully excised and the sentinel lymph node was negative and there was no invasive disease.
After my new breast has settled in December, I felt a lump on my upper left side of the the same breast . This was exactly where I felf a lump in the beginning before I had my mastectomy. I had another biopsy on the lump and it revealed a DCIS.
I then had a lumpectomy in February 2018 and a radiotherapy has been advised as a follow up treatment.
Please has anyone had this kind of experience, a mastectomy followed bt a lumpectomy. My consultant was not explaining clearly to me why. I beleive the lump wasnt removed when I had the mastectomy.
I also want to ask if a radiotherapy is necessary now.
