Mastectomy

Hi all..just an update.

I've stage 2 breast cancer and had mastectomy  on 4th sept 2017 on left breast..All went well and I had expender put in ready for reconstruction at a later date..The care and support so far has been great from hospital to home.I was terrified on initial diagnosis but feeling very positive so far..got results on 20th for next stage of treatment. To all you ladies and men it's not as bad as it seems when your diagnosed with cancer...its scary I know but be positive and things will turn out  ok..good luck to you allxx

    Hi glitters Thank you for your reply. I've seen one of the breast care nurses today and had a little chat. It all still scares me though. It's more of a body image issue I think. Won't be able to have a reconstruction straight away. I would however like to have my other breast removed aswell and reconstructed. Don't want to have to go through all this again. Wendy x

    Hi Wendy

    I was a G cup.I decided to have my other breast removed for that same reason.

    I am obviously much smaller.I am considering nipple reconstruction when i am healed properly ,hopefully December time and then areolas tattooed.

    I am finding it difficult to love my new body but i would rather have my life than worry too much.

    How do they do nipple reconstruction. I no about getting nipple tattooed. Lots of things to get information about. I just want to be around for a long time to see my son grow up. I never want To deal with this again.
