The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Dear Sandra Brenda really enjoyed me visiting, she kept wanting a kiss and cuddle, still non stop talking and hardly sleeping.

i took a few things with me and she was thrilled,I took her some proper pants red with flowers and straight away she put them on over her PJ's,I said super women, and she burst out laughing  .

We worked out what else she wants and taking Thursday evening, and see if anything changed or someone sorted out what to do or check with Brenda.

Thinking of all you lovely ladies .

    Love Billy xxxx

  • Hello everyone

Just popped in to see how you all are! Unfortunately it's not good news this end. Today I took my mum to doctors for a lump on her face. I could tell by look on his face it wasn't good. She is now waiting for an appointment at hospital yes the 2 week referral. But as usual don't worry till you know exactly what it is. But this is my mum and so hard. 4 years ago I was then waiting to go in to have my lumperectomy done now looks like it will be mum having surgery. Yes 4 years since I found you amazing people!!

    Love to you all x

  • Hi all - this cancer is such a *** disease! Milestones are great - 5 years since my first bout of treatment and a year since second bout of treatment.

I think absolutely everyone on this chat is remarkable. The strength and determination it takes to deal with what we have been through as well as coping with survival issues and curveballs life throws us.

On a good note - I did my jump and am still in one piece!! It was such a surreal experience and I'd do it again! Not gonna lie - was super calm throughout the moment until I'm sitting dangling my feet out of the plane and then whoosh! I'm out and upside down!!!! That's the moment I definitely got scared but I screamed and was ok. I got to hold the handles for the parachute and turn it and see the whole of Kent from above. So so beautiful.

Another thing ticked off my list! Now to get on with the rest of my list!!

At least the weather is getting better so get out and enjoy whatever you can. Take care all.
