The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

Sandra x ️X

  • Hi Sandra,

Love the picture -what gorgeous girls.

Feeling *** at the moment. Can see no way out as cancer not shrinking so no op. Feel as if it will be there for ever or until it kills me!

Understand the family in Brighton didn't want to travel over the bank holiday with a 1 year old and a 3 year old 200 miles but it still hurts.

Sorry to moan will be better soon (I hope)

  • Nah lass don’t you worry ....you let it all out... it’s better than holding it in.

Did they expect to see some change already....just it seem early days in your meds.... well to me. Mind you I totally get you just want it out ..,. Now! It’s what I would want too.

Bless 200 miles ... not your “just pop” in travel is it. That being said ..,,, if it was my lot I too would understand but be hurt. Going with not too long by train nd lil ones would love that kinda travel though.

Mind at least they don’t do what my daughter ex work colleague kids do- she retired so they get her to travel to theirs to do the child care (quite a way- and she pays) but at bank holidays they ask her to go home so they can have some family time alone!!!!!! Gotta love family eh. X

  • Hi all. I'm back from what was an amazing holiday. I even went on a two hour horse ride through the desert to the beach and rode a camel to the giza plateau and the pyramids.

The bad....am back home and not on holiday lol. I also came home to find out I've been recalled following my 1 year mammogram...not going to panic.....Just thinking it's due to all the scar tissue and changes following treatment last year...I go next week (30.04.19) so not a long wait.

The good....special family memories have been made. Lee started radiotherapy today...All went well. Life is a lovely thing

  • Hi Ladies,

Hope you all had a lovely Easter!

Sundial, hope hubby is mending nicely.

Dragonfly, sorry you're feeling rubbish. Like Sandra said, seems like early days so dont despair if theres no shrinking just yet and as for family....well you know my thoughts on that lol. Least they have kind of an excuse for not visiting. My Mum lives down the road and never been in my house in the almost 3 years ive lived there...not even when i had cancer and especially not now im pregnant. Still no word from her since there text I sent her telling her the news. Oh well!

    Sandra.....still a creative queen :)

Chris....Little hatchling is growing well. Im 23 weeks today and he doesnt stop wriggling which I love. Had the girls round this weekend and they wouldnt leave my bump alone bless them. They're so excited to be big sisters and they will make brilliant ones!

Lovely weekend for me. Swimming with the kids, lots of sunbathing, lamb roast.....lamb curry with the leftoever....too much chocolate. Was loooveellllyyyy :) xx
