The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hello ladies. Hope you're all doing ok.

It's been a very fresh sunny day here in London. So had my round of appts at hospital - pain and swelling due to rad damage. Still - 2 years later. Fatigue - they had no explanation. Was told by onco gynae tamoxifen doesn't cause fatigue.

    ??

Am perplexed. Anyways after discussion of various aspects of my cancer, DNA, life, etc. I am trialling 6 weeks of not taking tamoxifen. Am fully into peri-menopause so God help my hubby and daughter! Told my son he's lucky he's not here! Lol!

Let's see how this pans out. Cannot believe 2 years has already passed since treatment. It's gone so quickly. Am very thankful for everything. There's a positive in every situation - was always like that and had lost my way a little. Back on track.

I'm going to see Shawn Mendes next week with my daughter. He's a very talented singer and his music always calmed me down when I was in my "bad" moments. Feel a bit old going but it's ok.

Enjoy your evening ladies and enjoy what ever the day brings.

  • Evening ladies, feeling a bit uncomfortable tonight. Normally they do 4 photos but they had asked for 8. Took nearly 40 minutes to do all as had to keep changing positions as they wanted slices of photos. They said it was to have a better look. So had the normal ones plus those. Then told to sit outside while they looked at them then they said the doctor needs to have a look. As you can imagine my face dropped and mind went into over drive. Then I saw doctor who said it’s all clear and he would ask for an appointment for a mammogram at end of next year!! So not only did I get results on the day but all clear can’t tell you how relieved I am.

Now I can start the weekend of celebrating my 50th early!  X

  • Love the bunnies and the Easter tree!
