The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Pippin and Sandra

Im afraid hubby not really ok. He has suffered with ulcerative colitis for many years and now the meds are just not working. He needs his small bowel and colon completely removed. He’s in a lot of pain but never moans. He can’t do much and definitely can’t be long away from the loo. Surgeon appt. a few weeks ago was cancelled but he was seen the following week. He said the op was urgent as he’s been on meds that compromise he immune system, He then had to wait two weeks for the pre op which has now been put back to next week. He has no op date at the moment because he needs to see the anaesthetist as he had three bouts of pneumonia at the end of 2017. So we are really on the roller coaster again. I just wonder sometimes why the world hates us so much!

  • Ah sundial the world doesn’t hate yous.... sometime we have ups and sometimes we have downs. Over our life time if we are lucky the ups outway the downs.

Its while we experience them that we feel them the best or......the worst.

I so hope some best times are heading your way soon. ️

In the mean while ... chin up lass he and you can do this...especially with the help your wonderful children are giving you ️

Tight hugs sent yr way x

  • Thank you. True but ....

  • Presumably it’s a stand alone garage if pulling down?

Loads on my street have converted their attached garages into rooms.

I used to have a small shed in my garden.... never went in it for anything that was in there so..... down it came nd don’t miss it. I did get a one of those green plastic cupboards that fits down side of house. It currently has 1 Tin of metal paint and 3 empty washing up liquid bottles ( that the lil ones play with. Would get rid but it’s where myhermes leaves me parcels when I’m not in for the delivery :D I once had a note t say left in plastic cupboard ( with the rusty jug on top)! Now considering I only have 1 cupboard... they were taking the mick with the rusty jug bit :D .... no need was there :D

pics when done please..... I  love a pic :)

  • Hi Sundial

so so sorry to hear this, I wonder how we get through the hardest times but somehow we do xx

i agree with Sandra, the world doesn’t hate you, it’s just so unfair how this happens to some families and so much is out of our control where the medical teams are concerned.

sending much love and hugs your way xxx thinking about you and your hubby and hoping all will be ok soon xxx

  • Yes it’s a stand alone, not had a car in it for donkeys years!

Cant even get a car down the driveway to the garage, it’s planted up with ferns all kinds and shady plants as the sun doesn’t reach it. We ran out of space when the lawn got dug up for a pond, then we bought another ornamental one so sitting space is tiny now .......I keep saying no more plants but there’s always something needing a home but I think sitting ( err lounging ;) ) space is needed more than ever now

i will be taking before , after and in progress pics

the garden is really small ....but very full :D

  • Lol the green cupboard with rusty jug :D

  • Hi Pippin

Yes I’m sure we’ll work our way through it. Just a tongue in cheek comment about the world. I know full well these things happen and there is no rhyme or reason. Just an end of tether moment.. List so far.

Husband in hospital three tines with pneumonia in late 2017.

Brother passed away unexpectedly in October 2017. Undiagnosed bowel cancer.

Husbands had reaction to meds in January 2018. New meds not worked since then.

i was diagnosed in April 2018 with endometrial cancer. Two major ops and RT finished in October.

Hubby told needed major surgery and stoma bag in December 2018.

My beloved dog passed away in February 2019. Diagnosis stomach cancer.

Hubbys urgent surgery according to surgeon been delayed twice through cancelled appts.

As I said just and end of tether thing. And yes I do realise others have as much or more to cope with. I’m just thankful for my two wonderful children and a supportive older sister.
