The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hi Everyone

Hope everyone’s treatment goes well next week.

  • So sorry your kids don’t want to hear. Some take over, some are middle of the roaders who do whatever you want then some can’t handle it and block it out.

If we are really lucky the way they sway suits our own needs. If we are not that lucky we get upset. The  distance between you and yours makes everything more intense.

If you need anyone to talk to or bounce feelings and thoughts off we are here. ️

Im not surprised you are up and down you still don’t actually  have your full care plan. Everyone always told me I would feel better just knowing what the plan of action was to get rid of the cancer.... for me they were right.

I hope on Wednesday you get the rest of your plan and when it starts. Got everything crossed it will b a better plan than you have prepped for. Not long now lass ... hang in there x

  • Hey lorna,

I am reassured that you all have each other’s backs ️  :-)

I hope everyone can find some good in their day. Take care me lovelies. X

  • Hiya Marilyn,

Stalk away, happy to answer anything I can :)

Have a lovely weekend Sandra - Wrap up - Brrrrrr

    Xx

  • Hope you have a good trip, shall miss you..we shall hold the fort and keep it warm for you xxxx

  • Thank you, I promise only a few questions at a time....here goes...

did you get a flu jab before chemo started?

have you got to take your temperature everyday?

are you doing 3 weekly cycles?

    Xxx

  • I've not had the flu jab, nobody has directly mentioned it to me. I was going to see about getting it this next week as chemo wasn't due (delayed) to start until next Thursday but then got pulled forward to today so haven't had chance to.

    Yes 3 weekly cycles. 3 EC & 3DTAX

They've not said to do it everyday although I probably think it's best to as temp seems to be the key indicator to anything wrong. If you're feeling off it but not it overly bad and your temp is high then need to speak to someone.

I've spent about £30 on a digital thermometer.

Feel free to message me at any time xx

  • Thank you for that, I will send you a friend request if you do t mind...( no one will see me stalking you! ) lol.

Bought a thermometer yesterday and already obsessed with it, getting on Hubby's nerves with my temp updates every hour!! Xx
