The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

Sandra x ️X

  • Hay sundial... good luck for your op tomoz ... Will all be thinking about you ... hurry up and get that sorted, and get back to normal ... chrissie   ; ))

    Sundial

  • Good luck for today sundial :-) hope everyone else is well

good-got my little one staying all week because Of the summer holidays so looking forward to much needed cuddles later

bad-other half got insurance letter refusing his claim for my stays in hospital and chemo day cases. They said they’ve spoken to the hospital who confirmed that cancer was diagnosed in dec 2016!!!!!!! Erm it was diagnosed as a ruptured implant. Cancer wasn’t found til 10th of may this year so why is the hospital saying that? If I had cancer back in 2016 don’t they think I would have had some form of treatment back then. I’m so angry. In a way though it could be a good thing as the hospital has basically put in writing that it was missed so just makes my case stronger!! Waiting til 9 til insurance and hospital opens its phone lines and some heads are gonna roll!!!!

  • Good luck with surgery today sundial. I hope all goes well and your helping is better than last time.

Beachbabe....i would seriously think about putting in a formal complaint. There is no way given what you've just been through that they should have delayed a referral back into the hospital. Disgusting.

Sandra....this illuminating  stranger that's brightened up your life sounds lovely.....and you're willing to loan him out lol.

Dizzle defo get your solicitor on to this as ei1ther the hospital have just put their negligence in writing or the insurance company are trying to find loopholes.

The good; today I'm not at work as I have oncology review

The bad; haven't been on here as 4 hours a day at work has wiped me out. Slept 12 hours solid Friday night and did not move from sofa all Saturday. Supposed to be increasing to 5 hours this week. Am telling them it's not realistic.

    Keep well today ladies x

  • That’s exactly how I felt Cornish! I was told I had to increase my hours to comply with the sickness policy so I dis but put holidays in and told them exactly what I thought of the policy. Told them that dda overuled any tin pot policy that they had and if they weren’t familiar with the dda, I would get them a copy.

  • I been back 1 week and I'm exhausted. I genuinely think people don't get just how easily your energy levels deplete without doing much. I'm not gonna kill myself to please them.

On a positive note Riley I forgot to say good luck with the sale of your house. Have you found somewhere new yet?

  • Yep, you’re standing up and breathing therefore you can work flat out, again. Unfortunately a lot of employers pay lip service to phased returns to work it seems. They do it to tick the boxes, no real intent to assist an employee returning to work after what could have been a pretty gruelling period in their lives.

I haven’t started looking at other houses yet, made

the mistake of looking at one at the sart of all this and unfortunately it’s been sold in the meantime, not doing tjat again!

  • Evening everyone

sundail hope everything went well today and your recovery is speedy. Another step closer to the end of treatment for u.look after yourself and let your lovely family look after you.

The good:- brill start t school hols. Had girls to the beach for the day. They loved it.

the bad :- I am absolutely wiped. The walk back up t the car up the sand dunes nearly finished me! Been a lonnng day - earlier start than usual.  Did I mention I am wiped. Best recharge batteries ready for tomorrow woods nd river.. should keep em busy. X

  • Nice breeze off the sea tho hopefully!
