The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hello ladies. Great to hear you are all fighting strong. Weather has been great too - a couple of too hot days but sun has been shining which lifts all spirits.

All going good - change of diet has given me at least 2 good days last week and 3 this week. It's on the up which is what is keeping me going. It's taken a whole year and I finally am feeling about 60% like my old self.  Thus has been rough for me but we will all get to that other end winning.

The next challenge now is getting my GP to actually get the referral right and to the right hospital! I'm hoping it'll be done this week - it's only taken a month and several emails and phone calls! Sigh.......

    Onwards and upwards!

  • Well done warrior keep it going. I've been keeping my e45 in the fridge as was suggested to me by the ladies here...and it's lovely and soothing.

Are you doing ok. Fatigue started to really hit me after the fourth day. X

  • Aloe Vera gel, kept in the fridge and put on straight after treatment is great as well.

  • Awww beachbabe. You will make me cry. Had it not been for the support I got I wouldn't have had the strength to offer any...so the credit extends to everyone here who helped me through hun. Hope you are doing better. I know you've had a bit of a hard time with the emotional side of things. X

  • Wow you have had a long road to recovery jbains. It hits everyone so very differently doesn't it.

Glad things are getting sorted now x

  • Everyone on here is special in their own ways helping each other!

Feeling better not quite 100% but better than I was. I had reiki done and think that has really helped she even said my head was going 100 miles an hour with confusion! Every day I am so thankful though x

Update! I am back home from my surgery. Surgery was at 12:30 then surgeon removed a golf ball size even though my tumor is small I guess they do that to remove some healthy tissue and also they remove some lymph nodes that the surgeon had thought according to some test I had done today That they seemed to be compromised but they did a preliminary test and it came out negative, now we have to wait for that full pathology report it’s going to be done in a week. I have appointment with the surgeon next Friday and that’s when I will have the full report. According to that we will see what’s the next step is the lymph nodes are involved unfortunately I’m in a need chemotherapy. If not it’s only going to be radiation and hormone therapy. I feel extremely well I recuperate up pretty quick I’m in pain of course . And oh my god that test they do when they give me the four shots to locate the lymph nodes oh my God I almost fainted with each one of them. Oh boy never felt that kind of pain before. So glad to be back home. At least I can say this part of the ordeal is over .

Again thank you for all the prayers the good thoughts and good vibes

    Hugs

    Liliana

  • Hi Liliana. Great that it all went ok and that preliminary tests on your nodes have been negative. Fingers crossed that the full tests comes back negative so you can move on to radiotherapy.

Don't overdo things as it can come back to bite you. Just go with what your body tells you. You are closer to being cancer free hun....keep going you are doing great x

  • Hi Dizzle82

    Well done enjoy good news

  • Morning all

Liliana - glad things went well and you feel as if you’re recuperating at a good speed. Listen to Cornish though. Don’t do too much too soon. It can set you back. I pushed my self too far one day and it took two to recover....

    Good

The sun is shining. Relaxing day today after tip and local shop.

    Bad

Too hot. I’m not a big fan of the heat. Makes me grumpy. It really does Cornish!

    Have a lovely day everyone.
