The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

Any chance of a little trip to a garden centre or some such for a gentle distraction... then a sit in at Costa for your little treat?

  • Hi Sandra 123

Yes no inhibitions once you going through tests ect I can talk about poor cancer quite openly can kill a conversation stone dead .last time doc said don't worry if you want break wind great

  • Hi tigercub

Yes it’s just come on today but I guess it’s been building for a couple of days.  Struggled with anxiety for the first few weeks but that seems to have gone, I’m just so tired, battling a post op infection, difficult next step decision to make and hubby unwell and starting new meds. All just got a bit too much. I’m sure it will all sort itself out.

and poor you...birthday in hospital.  I’d want a double birthday when I get home. You deserve it.

  • Hi no no one must beat themselves up .when the pip lady came to Do assessment on me she kept saying she understands what it's like to have chemo so I had ask her if she had it them said no so answer my question and I wouldn't wish it on anyone .every ones health issues are equally important .

  • Totally agree. Can I wish you a happy birthday and although not a day to celebrate today I do hope you can celebrate when home and up to it x
