The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

I'm excited and scared at the same time....am planning lots to keep me focused on positive things....got Venice sorted and we are gonna plan a trip to Egypt to cruise the Nile and see the temples and then 2 days in Cairo before a few days at the red sea. Planning for April as a kind of 1 year anniversary post op celebration lol. Am also planning some decorating and a garden revamp.....will need energy levels back before any of this gets done though lol.

  • O wow! :-)

I was in the paddle steamer... they did the temples very early in the day 7:00 am ish coffee nd pastries then temple ( So cooler and first ones there nd quiet :-) then back on boat... breakfast then sail up the nile nd watch the world go by whilst drinking cocktails... ah the memories we up the nile back down the nile lol. • Oh wow..sounds amazing.....always been on our list of to dos and we are taking the 9 year old with us (totally into ancient egypt). We were looking at the sound and light show and it's quite a cheap addition so think we will do it. However there is not a hope in hell of me stepping one foot into a hot air balloon lol....i have the worst fear of heights!!!!

  • Ah she will love it:-)

3 or 4 sound nd light shows pyramids ( amazing) Abu simbel, philae temple ... ooh all I remember off top of head lol. I’m scared of heights too but cos basket came up to my chin I felt safe albeit 2 inches of wattle u r standing on ha ha ... does nile nd valley of the kings .. only ballon ride I’ve done. Hot hot hot is weather each day lol x

  • Lol...yes I like something a bit more solid under my feet lol. Cannot wait!

  • Good

I would love to go to Egypt. But I think it would be too hot for me. I’m a big ancient history lover. Seen Rome. Seen Athens. Even seen Venice. Egypt and the Valley of the a Kings would make the set.  You must tell us all about it and we can then make a virtual journey.

    Bad

i have just had to cancel my cruise to the fjords in July because I will still be undergoing treatment.

    Sundial

  • Ah bless. Think of it as postponed not cancelled.  Not done yr trip so will def need the low down on it :-) x

  • Ha ha... have t say when we landed they jumped out of the truck (that followed us ready t pick us up) half a dozen were singing nd banging drums in a display of general joy nd delight... not in English but we did speculate the song went along the lines of... oh joyous day.. no one died or got injured praise to all God’s we won’t get sued. Ha ha ;-)))) x
