The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • All this talk of bruising and the different colours....its like a surgical rainbow (think ive lost it). So I spent over an hour this afternoon under the ct scanner with my arms in rests above my head (they call them rests...i call them torture devices). Finally got my tattoos on, along with some lovely pen drawings (feel like an ordnance survey map). Radiographer noticed that my boob under the nipple is red and asked me if it was painful. I said no as I can't feel anything on the skin as ive lost the sensation since surgery. However after coming away and talking to other half he said to me "but you keep telling me you're still sore" and reminded me I have to have a cushion between my boob and the seat belt. I answered her thinking about my skin and not the inside of my boob which is still sore. I haven't checked my boob visually properly since we got home. So we looked.. and yes, all around the underneath and under the nipple the skin is red and warmer than skin elsewhere. Now I'm wondering if I give it a day or two or call the clinic back tomorrow. What a nightmare
