The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Omg beachbabe that is just the best news today. I am so happy for you and I am glad they are going to keep a close eye on you. I've seen the reassuring posts you've given to others waiting for breast clinic referral and test results. If you can still find time i think others in the future would really benefit from hearing a positive outcome. That is of course unless you never want to look back which no one could blame you for. Today is a good day xxx
  • Thank you Cornish you was one of the First Ladies I spoke to on here. I will be staying around and if I can reassure others then it’s been worthwhile, like on the 1st of every month I remind my friends to check themselves. I put a thank you message on my fb page tonight and once again the response has been overwhelming in fact made me cry. It has been one hell of an emotional rollercoaster and people are putting how brave I have been I don’t see myself as brave just someone who was dealt something but with the love, prayers and support of people has got me through it. I don’t see me as brave but lucky that it was caught early so the message has to be check check check! X

  • I absolutely agree with everything you say. And would add like me, if you have abnormal bleed, get it checked straight away. Early catch, better sort out if possible....

  • Totally agree! The thing that shocked me was when I told friends I found a lump how many said they never check. I admit I didn’t check every month but every so often it’s scary but they do check every month now and so will I x

  • Good morning peeps

Well wasn’t yesterday just an all round good day     for drop kicking this disease right out of the field :-)

although sorry to hear about warriors friends cat..hope we get a good outcome for it too. Our furry friends leave their paw prints on our hearts.

So me lovelies reckon no hosp results or visits today so what do we do...as best we can we put illnesses in the pending tray and embrace life and living. What’s everyone up to today?

  • Good morning! I agree sandra yesterday was lovely to hear so much good news. Hopefully warriors friends cat will recover also. Today I'm just popping some washing out. I am thinking of running out to get my little legs a new pair of school shoes a bit later. I'm also making a chicken curry later. That will be quite enough to zap my energy lol.
  • Mmm curry yum.

oh no new school shoes this close to end of term used t b my “well there’s a bummer” feeling when mine were at schools lol. That stuff needs to occur to schedule....Sept new school term lol. Blinking feet not knowing this ;-)

Hi there Sundial :-) I wouldn’t give a about getting dressed. You have your support network in place ( code for sorted someone t get ya Costas in for u :-) u watch that world go by nd heal :-) x

  • Morning ladies,  my son has gone back home to Crewe this morning  but said will be back soon and to behave myself!!

My friend is taking me out for lunch so sad and happy day but sun is out here and we have the “wedding” to look forward to! Have a good day x

  • Hi sundial...just take it easy...there is no rush yo recover and I still have days where I have no energy or desire to get dressed. Keep those lattes flowing and kick back!

Sandra...yes she has not stuck to schedule and am a bit annoyed at having to buy school shoes so close to the summer holidays. Never mind. She is quite rough on her shoes so no doubt they will be knackered by the summer anyways lol.

Beachbabe, I hope you don't mind but there are a few posts with ladies with lumps (some only in their 20s bless em) and I've tagged you in as an example of when all can work out positively. I hope that's ok.
