The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Err one for me and Jbains as well please!

Tone now lowered, no appointment necessary and I do it for free!

On a more mundane note, garden blokes turned up at 7 this morning to finish off. Was and still am roaming round in my dressing gown, done some ironing and took the dog round the block as he has some Houdini traits that mean we can’t trust him with open doors, he runs off!

should look when it’s done, can’t wait!

Have a good day folks, paint brush to do the timber in the back garden at the ready, now if there are any hunky blokes available who could oblige while I watch, that would be fantastic. Well, I can dream...!

  • Morning ladies. Hope you're all ok. Errr......rileyroo...... Well am finally feeling a lot better and human - thank God. This was a nasty infection but time for some retail therapy with my daughter. Holiday shopping! Enjoy your day ladies.x
  • Eye candy at the gym is not lowering the time Sandra....i thought it was standard to be on the lookout in those kinds of environments lol.

Lynn there aren't any words for what you have been through and continue to go through, as two years is not long when grieving. From reading between the lines it sounds like your husband was a lovely man and that you had a good marriage. I'm sorry that you lost him at what is such a young age. My mum had bladder cancer and passed at 66. She was diagnosed after bring admitted to hospital and passed 3 weeks later with the doctor only being able to prescribe TLC to treat her (literally wrote this on her medical notes). Now here I am, the youngest of 4 with breast cancer. I'm lucky as caught early and long term prognosis for recurrence is small. As you can tell we talk about lots of things and it's nice to know that you have found some comfort from reading them  (although I have been relatively new).

So the good for today is that I am going to ignore anything bad lol....so it's all good!!!!

Have a lovely day everyone x

  • Glad to hear youre finally getting rid of the infection. And a holiday....oh I so want to go on holiday...gonna be the first thing I do once given clearance after radiotherapy. Hope you're going somewhere nice jbains x

  • Just looked back on some posts and saw you gave me a vertual hug and so lovely to hear those words you said ... It's only having so many heartaches in my family that gives me the knolage of so many feelings and expierances and through every one, they always found something to smile about or see the funny side of a situation ... And my mum was kind to everyone ... And my dad was a real life B F G ... who never even raised his voice ... Now I'm just trying to give something back ... And trust me, I get far more on here then l give ....

Now on a lighter note ... What have l started ... Your all pretty frisky now lol ... But it don't half brighten the day .... Have a good week end peeps ... Chrissie x
