The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Thank you, you are totally an amazing bunch of ladies. So glad I have found you as that what has been keeping me going on the low days. I have had specially not knowing what results could throw at me. I have learnt so much from you ladies and Whatever my results turn out to be will always be so grateful. Feeling calm at moment although still uncomfortable from op, but main thing is the lumps are out, and yes as I have read my boxing gloves are ready should I need them! I hope your all having a good day and enjoying the lovely weather

    xx

  • Hi and your so welcome ... it's lovely having you hear too ... it feels better once those nasty lumps are out ... it's not like they were invited ... so take it easy ... building up slowly ... if you had lymph nodes out, look after that arm ... it does get stronger but don't think we get 100% anymore .. but you can live with that ..

Baby steps ... not like worriorqueen,  off like a super hero ... she's a wonder woman ... but us mortals need to go gently  ; ))  you sure got the sunshine to enjoy...

So keep us posted ... good or bad... happy and sad   ( think l remember that in a song)  I've just had a massive naughty pudding .. cake , ice cream, nuts, choc of course ... and scoffed the lot .. back to diet tomoz ... thanks again peeps ...  Chrissie

    Take care all

  • Didn’t have lymph nodes but was a wide excision they said. My mum made me a chocolate cake yesterday to help put some weight back on as lost a stone in a month! Why are naughty things always the best?? Shame to waste it though!!!

  • Here here ... my guilty pleasure ... chocolate... mmm ... your cake sounds delish  ...  ; ))

It's funny l lost a lot of weight leading up to op ... and l remember someone saying how good that was ... they asked which diet l was on ... and no I didn't tell them ... but had a chuckle bout it to myself ...

So now I'm 10 months on, got to go back to a normal diet to keep it off .. though some has crept back on ... but hay ho ... that's least of my worries ... wer still here .. so now everything in moderation ... well nearly everything ... lol  x

  • My comfort food has always been chocolate chip muffins some thing I will never give up!! Just has to be chocolate, just has a way of making things seem better!

  • Ah cake and chocolate - greatest cure! Rileyroo is the cake expert. I think another one us cheesecake - I love cheesecake but has to be made properly - not the shop bought type. Oh and homemade bannofee pie. The beat of all is a cinnabon - until you've had one you won't comprehend the heavenly feeling it gives. Man want cake now...... Am watching the waistline as weight around belly has crept up. Lost loads of weight just before op and then during treatment. But anything to make me feel good is allowed?!
  • Aw come on, cake is a compulsory food to aid recovery, works on both mind and body. What more is there to say?!

  • Oh do tell what’s in a Cinnabon please x

  • Omg all this talk of chocolate etc....ive just sent the other half to the shop lol

  • Help his leg get moving, win win!
