The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

Sandra x ️X

  • Morning peeps ...

Good ... the nursing home for my sis I looked at (but was dreading) is amazing... cinema room... hairdressing room ... a groops come and sing the old songs once a week .. bright and cheery .. staff are wonderfull ... it looks at what they can do, not what they can't... and they RESPECT those there ... so feel so much better .. and you can visit as long as you want , and anytime ...  think I'll put a reserve on for me ..

Bad (sad) so many newly diagnosed breast cancer lasses ... it brings back those first scary days ... there's cournish and warrior just through theirs, but others follow so quickly ... hope your both good, and so proud of you both ...

And Rilley, Sandra, and jbains, just knowing your there, when these new ones come along means so much ... it's like a comfy blanket of knowing they are not alone ... and jolomine, our matriarch ...

Right coffee time me thinks ... my dulchy gusto is calling. .  Need a pick me up now ... big hugs to all us breast ladies ...

  • Hey chrissie. I'm so glad you have gotten some reassurance after visiting the care home for your sister. You only ever hear the bad stuff but as a social worker I go in and out of care homes all the time and see some excellent care.

No word from Nikki still???? I think her surgery was on 17th and she was last on line on 19th (Not stalking...just worried about her). Hopefully she is just taking a break out to concentrate on herself.

Saw the news today about the computer glitch not sending out letters for screening to so many ladies...some of whom may no longer be with us. Incredibly sad.

  • Morning peeps

as always Chrissie u r right. Have t admit it wasn’t till I was diagnosed that I realised how many were being affected. Daughter has same coffee maker yum. Me I buy the latte sachets... frothy coffee in the time t boil a kettle..good times:-)

The bad:- hearing 450,000 women were not sent invites for screening due to comp glitch. Speaking as someone who had no signs or symptoms nd was caught on screening -this  issue just being made public knowledge now - Begs belief.

The good:- family time... always family ️X

  • Hows wor Cornish, warrior, Nikki nd sunshine doing? X

  • Hi lovelies! I'm fine and galavanting around as usual. Purchased some amazing sparkly shoes yesterday! Going to get my hair done shortly. Nails were repainted yesterday. Bet sexy anaesthetist didn't even look at my feet!

Shocked about screening scandal, I also didn't have any symptoms!

Don't know what I would have done without you ladies supporting me. Love to you all xx

  • Good t hear from both u nd Cornish:-) do hope Nikki nd sunshine pop by to let us know all is well.  I’m sure Nikki was due her results end of April.

eee warrior I used t love shoes but now going for the lesser attractive “granny shoes”. Blinking plantar fasciitis.... sigh. Cupboard full of high heels (love irregular choice shoes)... daughters hovering as we speak but not quite ready to part with them lol.

Good to hear you’re  still embracing yr life with both hands nd then some lol. Like everyone says listen to yr body nd if it’s happy nothing to hold u back:-)

finished penny dreadful... fab loved every min. Thinking of watching “Alice” next 2 parter ( Alice in wonderland story).

    Take care me dears x

  • Oh Sandra. . I read your post about "penny dreadful "  and that you'd enjoyed every minute of it ..  so found it and settled down ... put it on ... well couple of minutes in , I jumped out my skin ... nearly had accident  ; ))   enjoyed every minute, really? ... well bet I get nightmares tonight ... esp if I need the loo...  lol sweet dreams all  ... x

  • Ha ha...eee Chrissie I know lol:-0

if I watched it late at night I really did have nightmares... I always do with this type of program:-)

loved the way it had all the well known usual suspects in it Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolves, Dorian Gray ooooo nd everyone. 3  seasons then it does have an actual concluding end :-(

wor warrior said she enjoyed too:-)

i started watching “Alice” a slant on Alice in wonderland... wasn’t for me so deleted out of watch list. So now watching “Time after Time”  slant on the H G Wells Time Machine...loving this too:-) x

  • Hay l watched (when I had just had op, and a lot of rest time to fill) THIS IS US ... it's American family and all the stories surrounding them ...  it is funny, compelling, and after 2 or 3 gets ya hooked .. you laugh one minute, cry the next ... (bit like our journey) apart from game of thrones, it's next best one ...

Well morning peeps ... got anything planned Rilley for weekend ... hope you all have a good one ... Chrissie x

  • Going to see that film greatest showman later and ballet class tonight x
