The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hi warrior... this didn’t happen to me but if I remember correctly the lovely  [@Chriss]‍ had her sample sent off to America to b tested. Sure she will b along soon to let u know if I’ve remembered this right nd her experience:-) x

  • Well Cornishpastie:-) the wait is almost over:-)

Just wanted to wish you all the best for tomorrow nd t say we’ll all b thinking of you. Virtual hugs nd support sent your way me dear... you’ve got this :-) x

  • Thank you Sandra.. ..i have my bag, and in it is my 'got it'....all packed and ready to go.

Just had what felt like the condemned man's last meal lol (love my food!). I will probably graze as long as I can later....and depending on how much my tummy can take!

Will give updates as and when possible tomorrow. Unsure if I'm going to be as on it as warrior queen.....she has set a limit that I'm not even gonna try to beat lol.

See you on the other side where my critters will be sitting in a little dish like a dead fishy! X

  • Just do the best you can with what you have. Drinks lots when you get back from theatre to flush the crap out, also helps with the blue wee and grey poo!

  • Go u lass:-)

whenever u r ready we would love t hear how goes u:-)

You have nothing to live up to.. the whole point is.... it is what it is for you. Why we always say my experience was....

Would be quite therapeutical if when they are finished with “it” if the let us torch it with a flame thrower. I’d b up for that like:-) x

  • Hay counishpastie ... I'm so so proud of you ... can't believe there you are helping lots of others ... even now ... do you know just how amazing you are ... well all be there with you tomorrow. . You just won't see us ... but when you hear those words ... you can do this ... it'll be us lot ... well be holding your hand ...

I tried texting some family after my operation and when I looked back , it was a tad gobbledygook ... and I thought I was compas mentas  lol .... so be carefull what you put ....

Hay Sandra , what a memory you have ... yes my grade 3 lump went to a big laboratory in the U S A ... and it came back minimum risk of spreading ... sure it was something to do with the turmeric / coconut oil / and black pepper I'd been taking for a year ... or just may not ... I'll never know ... but just shows grades 3 can be doable...  not always bad outlook ...

Then cournish remember your own words ...take little steps ... look after your arm esp... it's a time to be spoiled ... then ...

and then there was one ...   me  .... aarrhh!!!   They are not even knocking me out ... l know there's cut backs but  ... telephone pre op assessment  ... waiting in a chair (no bed)  no breaky ... no anaesthetic .... hope they can stretch to a cup of tea, before they throw me out on the street ...  next step is theyll send a do it yourself kit through the post ...

Well cournish,   sending you a vertual hug ... you take care .... Chrissie

  • Ahh I vaguely remembered  it was u who said about your sample being sent to the states:-)

We still have [@Nikki72]‍ too, she has her op on the 17th I think. Anyone heard from her bless, she has not posted for a while ( please let us know how u r doing Nikki).

Ha ha Chrisie... I was starting t think it was just us up North that didn’t get a bed lol. Tbh in reality one was’t needed.... did just fine in a chair lol. Mind you my pre op was a face t face one. They took bloods, bp, urine, ecg  nd other physical tests... so not sure how that all works with a telephone assessment lol. You are right though all the worry about the wait and yet look how quick they are actually coming at us:-) x

  • Hey Cornish, will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending you love! You'll sail through. Hope you don't resort to eating the bed spread like suggested by some. Just look forward to that nice cup of tea and a tramadol after the op. Xxx

  • Hopefully if my alien turns up in the USA Sigourney Weaver will incinerate it for me - whoopee ****ing do as the space marines would say lol xx

  • Hay wish you'd stop beating round the Bush   ; ))   just come out and say what ya think ... don't be shy ... lol   if your lumps as tough as you , it'll fly there itself ... hope yours comes back contained too ...
