Hello.

My dad was diagnosed with prostrate cancer in December  2013. His psa level was ever high but was given a hormone injection  every 3  Months and his level in December 2016 dropped to 0.02 . He had severe leg pain for months. He was advised it was the affects of his medication. He was examined and one consultant said it was arthritis.  Eventually after months of complaining his gp noticed his bloods were showing anaemia and referred for further tests. By this time he could not walk and was in agony. He was then given a scan December 2015 that showed a tumour in his kidney that was inoperable and a tumour in his hip socket that had destroyed the bone. He had radium the next day Xmas eve. And all over the xmas period .he has had chemotherapy  tablets but they have made him very sick. So now just has morphine drugs for pain relief. Please please moan and keep on and on at the doctors to look further into why your husband has  pain. And do not allow them to fob you off that it is a side affect. Of the treatment or medication that is what they told my dad and as they are the doctors he believed them.

I am so glad your husband contacted the McMillan nurse and will have an appointment soon. In the beginning we found the information between the Gp Consultant and McMillan nurses conflicting,  Please do not feel rude  and question everything they tell you, we wish we had. I do hope that once they change your husbands medication it will resolve the pain issues he is experiencing, and he will soon be on the road to recovery.
