Hello,
I really would like to talk with anyone experiencing the same thing as me. I know we are all living with a connection to cancer in some way, but I am at a loss and would appreciate any support.
My husband was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer, PSA 59, Cleason score 9, stage T3.N1,M0 three yers ago. Immediately he was given 37 days of radical radiotherapy and after having injection and lots of different hormones he now takes hormones tablets every day. Things were aweful for a long time then his PSA dropped to 0.02, which was great news.Things were looking up except the constant pain in his hips and legs. This has been going on even before the drugs began.
However, slowly the PSA has been rising, his, drugs have been changed and his testosterone level is less than a man who has been castrated. You can imagain how he is feeling!! His pain is constant and he has mentioned this to his nurse, although he is a man of few words as he does not like a fuss. They gave him another MRI and said there is nothing to worry about. His PSA level have carried on increasing with new drugs and is up from 0.02-5.6 within 3 months and the pain is gettting worse. He again spoke to Mcmillan nurse today and she says the pain is probably side effects from the drugs!!! Please can anyone advise us?. We are so scared.
