I have the same my stomach numb I look like I'm 6 months pregnant

I two had vats and my upper right lobe was taken away, i am  having  bloating, certain foods give me acid reflux i avoid coffee well have devaf, my op was 7/2/2018.

i had left lung upper lobe removed 7 weeks ago .stomach and rib area feel swollen clothes wont fit wondered if its fluid retention also lot of acid reflux which i suffer from occasionely but everything i eat seems to cause it .

I’ve had this too after thoracic surgery. I’ve found this article which says it could be caused by intercostal nerve damage (I was told they’d had to cut through 3 sets of nerves to remove tumour). Glad I found this I'm 2 weeks in to full lung removed with open surgery I can feel that swollen bloated so uncomfortable thought it was just me  

I had my lower lobectomy in February. I too thought I was odd, bloating, extreme tenderness at base of my rib cage and right breast. I am so relieved that others are having similar symptoms. I just wish that these things could be explained properly instead of being told ‘Oh, that’s nothing to worry about’. Walk in my shoes for a week, Mr G.P.!!!  Makes me so cross, lol.My ‘pains’ are still with me but I live with them (helped with Tramadol), but we are ALIVE and breathing, that is something to be thankful for.  I wish you a good recovery, be kind to yourself, let your body tell you when to rest and you’ll soon be enjoying life again.  

I had op feb 2018 now august 2019 th numbness and tender under right breast has gone, but even now i ha e bloated feeling and wind.

Did anyone loose there appetite not sure if the meds or part of it 

Hi, I had a full lung removed 4 years ago, I had the nerve pain which lasted quite a while, then about 1 and a half year after surgery I had a really bad chest infection and I coughed that much that I felt I'd broken the rib again as I recognised the pain from after surgery. When I went for my next CT scan and the results with the consultant I mentioned this so she sent me for a chest xray and sure enough I'd coughed that much that my diaphragm had lifted up on the left hand side and my intestines had sprung up ( breaking a rib as it happened ) . Into my chest cavity. So I have spent the last couple of years with this bloated feeling under my ribs and occasionally my bowel gets trapped and twists which is very painful. Over the last year I have felt everything moving around and settling in to new places. Now my heart is high up under my clavicle, my stomach is where my heart should be, my spleen is up there too and my bowels are under my ribs under my stomach. Just been for another x Ray today, it makes a very interesting picture.
