scan anxiety

I have my 3 month scans coming up on Tuesday.  I keep telling myself not to worry but I always manage to get even more anxiety doing that.  So far I have had stable metastatic BC and hope for the same.  It's been a year since I was diagnosed and I still can't get used to the idea that I this is my new reality. Wish there was an anxiety OFF switch that I could activate for my life. Anne58

I am on three monthly check ups and know what you mean.  Most of the time I get on with my life (I am not a normal worrier) but when it comes to a few days before my appointment I get pains (nothing serious) and am obviously worrying although I think I am coping well my husband says that I go quiet for a couple of days before.

I have a little mantra  " If I worry and everything is fine then I have wasted time and energy worrying, if its not fine then what help has worrying been".  Doesn't always work but it helps me. You need to find what works for you, it could be something practical to take your mind off worrying.
