Abiraterone and anxiety

I am beginning to worry about how long this drug, Abiraterone, will be will be effective - my husband has been on it for fifteen months. There  has been a  rise in PSA which is v worrying It would help if someone could give me some idea - I know its different in each case - but any idea of its effective life, on average, would be a help. 

 The uncertainty of it all  is getting hard to live with. .It seems more difficult to deal with the longer it goes on - I used to cope with it all much better but now I am worried ...........

    Hello renee,

    Sorry to hear about your husband's rise in PSA and the anxiety this is causing. Have you mentioned your fears that Abiraterone may not be as effective to your husband's consultant? His medical team may be able to guide you and provide an explanation as to why this may be.

    I hope others who have taken abiraterone will come and share their experience with you soon. We do have quite a few members who have had prostate cancer and who may have received similar treatment.

     I am new to this and I thought it might help. I wrote a long reply to you but having read what I wrote I deleted it because  it was just too miserable and moany for words!!  I think perhaps it is not something I will do it again but thanks for replying Lucie - it was very kind of you and much appreciated.     Oh sorry to hear that - I hope you are ok?  I hope you feel better and if there's anything we can do to help, don't hesitate.     N o- theres no need for anyone to reply - its not exactly about the Abiraterone anyway more about the treatment options/time running out.

    Thank you anyway - I am sure that this must be a lifeline for some but its not for me......
