first R_Chop chemo today , how should I feel

Had my first cycle of chemo today . Given a capped dose because my wound is still leaking ,. I feel fine is that how it is supposed to be , or is this the calm before the storm . What should I be looking out for .

  • Hi there,

Well done you for getting through that first scarey appointment. As with many of the treatments the waiting and the anticipation often turn out to be the worst bit. "How it is supposed to be" is entirely an individual experience from what i have observed. In an ideal world any nausea/ vomiting could / should be well controlled and I note you didn't even mention any needle phobias so that helps!!!

The capped dose perhaps helps to run you in more gently , but then if you are just post surgery then i think you should be congratulating yourself that you have done so well. if you have been given any anti nausea meds - take 'em just in case! and expect maybe to feel a bit more tired than usual.

i am sure you will have lots of other responses

  • Hi Sueps

Last night I felt very sick and had killer indigestion , luckily they gave me tablets for it so took them and felt bbetter.  Today has been ok bit tired and burping for england . I felt well enough to go and sort my wig out ready for the fall.

I think qll the reading up and full disclosure talks you have before you go through thing that set you up to be worried and stress you out . I know I will be feeling bad next week but just how bad we will see .

I am writing a diary for this cycle so I can see if the next cycle is the same as I have been told that it can help .

Hope you have finished all your treatment and are safely through the other side .
