Un happy with the word cant cure you

I had dcis in 2011 lumpectomy radiotherapy and four yrs on tamoxifen then at xmas 2014 diagnosed with metatistic breast cancer spread to sturnem, lung lymh nodes had 6 cycles of ec and thing have improved oncologist is very pleased with me BUT why do i feel so down although its sort of good news i still cant get it out of my head he cant CURE ME, im now going on another hormone tablet but im so scared of how long before it starts to grow again, feeling down, although my husband says it was good news i feel down :((

    Thanks for sharing your feelings with us in this safe place. Yes, it is good news but every time we see an oncologist we get reminded that we can't be cured and it bursts the protective bubble that we construct around our minds to help keep us sane. It's no wonder you feel down. 

    You've been dealing with this for longer than I have, so I won't insult you with platitudes, but I hope that you somehow manage to pull yourself up by your boot straps and start to see the positives again! Just keep reminding yourself that the only alternative we have to living with cancer is even worse.
