... and now we wait

Mixed feelings today. I had my six monthly CT scan this morning and they managed to get a canula into my chemo veins on the first attempt!  That's first time they've managed to do that in well over a year.

I see the oncologist on the 18th for the results of the scan. I feel pretty good at the moment, but I can't help thinking that this run of good luck can't last forever (though obviously I hope it does!).

From experience I know that the next 12 days will drag and anxiety levels will rise as that date draws closer, not so much in me but in my close family.

The only one not getting stressed is my dog, apart from the fact that she wants to go for a walk NOW! lol She is always good as a distraction ;-)

Cheers
Dave

  • We're thinking of you Dave during this anxious wait.

I hope you have lots of lovely walks with your dog. Perhaps she picks up on the fact you are (understandably) a little bit anxious and she pulls your trouser leg to take you out for a walk? Or maybe she just wants a nice walk herself :D

We've got everything crossed for you.

  • Hi Lucie,

Thanks - I try not to worry about these things but I do worry about other people worrying ... if that makes sense.

I'm afraid she is utterly id centred and obsessed with retrieval  - even her walks are just a means to playing retrieval games. If I forget to take a ball, she'll hunt around for a replacement - sticks, stones anything that can be thrown and retrieved lol

    Cheers

    Hi Dave,

Is Rani retriever or sheepdog?  Or just dog  with personality?

Your mates here are supporting you and hoping your results are good.  You have been doing so well and I thank you for your wonderful advice and the heartful support of others.

    Best wishes, Kathy.xx

  • Hi Kathy,

She is a slightly crazy Yellow Labrador Retriever - today she looked more like a mongrel with different coloured fur! I'll set her picture as my avatar and you'll see what I mean :-)

    Cheers

  • Great picture! She does look slightly crazy Dave and she does seem to love that ball! Does she get pretty muddy and need to have a bath after those long walks in the woods?

Hi Dave, we used to have  red kelpie,

Bob Dog, loved chasing balls, sticks anything, taking him for a walk wwas easy as he did all the running around, would round up anything going, pigeons, ducks.  Beautiful dog.  We watched Red Dog the movie after we lost Bob Dog and the story is true.  Would love another kelpie but they do require a lot of exercise and as I get older don't think i could exercise a breed that requires such energy.  We do love our pets and they know exactly how we are feeling.  Love them.  Kathy xx

  • With the doggy talk - I thought I must put up this recent picture of Alfie carrying his treat bowl.  How cute is he?  xxxxxxx
