Hi Jo,
I have not been on the forum in some time, and have been trying to catch up with how people have been getting on. Im very sorry to hear that you've had to deal with lung nodules. I know there is nothing that can be said that will really help but I'm glad that you have some nice things to look forard to over the next few months. Although I don't post as often as I used to, I do think of everyone often and will try and keep more up to date!
Hope you have a nice outfit sorted for the wedding!xxx
I was super touched by your reply to my "I am scared" message, and now realise like many here we are all struggling, all I can do is send you a big hug just like you sent me one Love Simon
Good morning Jules,
Well, another week completed without the 'dreaded' Ofsted call! Whilst I can appreciate the feelings of anxiety the anticipation of 'the visit' is bringing some of my colleagues, I no longer feel the same angst. I think it's a 'perspective' thing!
The wedding is getting closer and my partner is beginning to stress about his speech! He's googled 'father of the bride' speeches for some ideas - amazing thing, this internet haha! He has also finished the wedding sign post he was asked to make. It does look lovely - wonder if he'll get any commissions as a result? Haha! Not sure how much one would charge for the great quantities of stress and sweat that went into making it!
Well, we've not planned much for the weekend - my children are visiting on Sunday, but other than that, a restful weekend with a book I started weeks ago!
Hope you have a good weekend, Jules, take care, hugs, Jo xx
Hi Beaker,
How lovely to see your avatar pop up on my thread. I've often thought about you and wondered how you were.
The family wedding is certainly a welcome distraction to look forward to and I've had a few days of retail therapy to find a wedding outfit. Think I've got everything sorted now. :)
Take care, Beaker, I'll always remember how supportive you were to me when I first joined the forum.
Jo xx
Hi Simon,
I spotted your update on your thread and you were going to be my next port of call when suddenly, here you are, responding on mine.
Thanks for the hug - you're right - we all need plenty of them!
Take care, Simon and I'll see you on your thread soon,
love Jo xx
Evening Jo,
Just logged on prior to getting my dinner on the go. Like you will be seeing my children tomorrow(after I have visited my Mum (daughter and family picking me up and we are all going to sons for afternoon tea and cakes along with his girlfriends parents). Weather permitting we will go for a stroll with the grandchildren and 'westie' too.
Beautiful morning here so I walked 2miles to local garden centre and loaded up with lots of goodies ready for the forthcoming bulb planting session (son is picking up the compost for me), then walked back home via coffee shop. I also picked up a miniature gardening set/gloves for my 6yr old grandson as they have just created an area in their small garden for him to do some planting and he is excited about growing a big sunflower in his own spot - they have filled some big tyres with compost and we will see what he grows during the sum mer.
Glad work not stressing you out and hope you not too tired but enjoying that book. What are you reading (trying to read!!). I too am endeavouring to finish a title that has been on the side for ages but somehow my concentration is lacking (unless I am outside when I can lose myself for hours lol).
Well dinner will not cook itself so will take a break and chat again soon. Virtual hugs and have a lovely family day tomorrow. Best regards Jules xx
Dearest friend Jo,
I am sorry I have not been around recently. Have had a bit of a rollercoaster experience of life which rather took over for a while. Nothing to do with illness. If you are up to it would love to catch up with you in private if I can find your email address and you are up to it.
April was a bit busy for me as I decided to celebrate the fact that I reached 60 so had a lunch party in one of the local pubs for family and local friends and husband took me away for a couple of days beforehand to one of our favourite hotels. Just managed to finish my thank you letters this morning.
Let me know how you feel friend.
Annabel. xx
Hi Annabel
Just seen your post to Jo (think of you all often and hope all is well with you both just now). Just wanted to welcome you to the 60's club (that was me last year!) and glad you were able to celebrate. Sending best wishes and hope all is well with you and the family. Best regards Jules x
Hi Annabel and Jules,
Annabel, I've emailed you and Jules I really wish private messaging was available.
My latest news isn't too groovy! I've a recurrent tumour in my bowel, and sadly, treatment options are limited. I'm meeting the oncologist next week to explore chemo options, but I was intolerant to chemo last time, so I'm not sure what we will discuss and Surgery isn't an option due to the tumour position in my pelvis
Think I'm in denial about it all! Especially as I look and feel fine! I've asked 'the question' but the consultant quoted global figures as he felt that 'personal' timescales are impossible to predict!
Meanwhile, I'm continuing to work as I welcome the routine and 'normality' of it!
Sorry to bear bad news - really miss the PM facility! (Hence the 'low profile' just lately!)
Sending hugs to you both, Jo xxxx
Thanks for responding Jo. Can appreciate you would rather PM(of course the newbies who are reading this must think we are all barmy to keep harping on about it not being available but for those who used it on the old site its a much missed facility) and thoroughly respect your privacy when you having to come to terms with so much. As always my thoughts are with you and the family and its good that you can keep working at present as I know how it helps to keep occupied. All the very best with your next appointment. Virtual hugs are small consolation but sent anyway my forum buddy. Jules x
