Hello Jo, I'm so glad to read you have "moved on emotionally", what an inspiration you are. Hope you enjoy a peaceful half-term - a week at work then a week off sounds like a good rota to me! I am doing OK thanks and concentrating on my family as time moves on. Take care. Hope x
Hi Jo
Well I know why this technophobe missed the latest catch ups on your thread - I had forgotten to press the follow discussion bar. Am finding that getting to the site has been giving some problems for my laptop as I keep getting a message 'this page cannot be displayed even though my connections are currently okay! technology eh!
Hope you have a peaceful week following your return to work (so nice of the surgeon to give you the go ahead). As you said on my thread keeping busy and back into some sort of routine gives more purpose to the day and easing back with a quick break is a good way to do it. I have another week at work and then have to finish my annual leave up so have two week break (though somehow seem to have lots of odd appointments already fillling my diary (think you call it catching up with life ha ha).
Well best go and get myself sorted out as have children/grandchildren today (plus dog) as its my daughter's birthday today (she was a wonderful Valentine's Day gift 33 years ago) and with my son's 30th next weekend (he will be away) we are having a family day which I guess will be somewhat emotional.
Take care lovely forum buddy and sending hugs Jules x
Hi Steven
Just wanted to let you know am keeping you and your family in my thoughts today. Hugs Jules x
(sorry Jo for interrupting your thread).
Hi Jo,
I should have mentioned to you I am thinking of making an Oak cross. Dont know if you remember a couple of years ago I located the resting place of my sister Irene who was born premature and only lived a few days. Well, I need to contact the Parks and Garden services for that area who manage the cemetary as My sister is buried in an unmarked grave which she shares with a young boy. I havent got any further with it at present but must contact them to see if they will agree. I would like to carve her name on it if I can get agreement.
I hope you are keeping well and have enjoyed your half term break. Thank you for being there for so many of us, Take care, big hugs, Brian.
P.S. I did say big hugs, Brian; not Big Lugs Brian, ha ha.
Good afternoon, Brian,
I remember about you locating your sister's final resting place - I hadn't realised how long ago it was though. I hope the parks and gardens dept will allow you to mark Irene's resting place - an oak cross sounds beautiful - you are a very talented man! How will you carve Irene's name - is there a special tool for such intricate work (I'd need to trace over lettering! )
I've had a good half term break, thank you. Had a list as long as your arm, but managed to cross off most things! Just some ironing to do - funny how I left that job until last! ;)
Thanks for the big hugs - hugs returned to you and Mrs B xx
(Our woodwork project {wedding signpost} is almost complete! I think the term, rustic, is a good description! Will post photo when it's fully constructed!) xx
Hi Jo
Thanks for the kind reply. I can use either one of two differnt methods to carve her name. One would be to use a small electric router with a vee shaped cutter and the other would be to use a set of small wood carving chisles Mrs B bought me years ago. This would take longer as it would all be hand work but as it will be a labour of love for me, it would probably be mich more rewarding. I have never used the chisle much so would be a big learning curve for me.
Take care Jo and I hope you take things easy next week when you return to work.
Best wishes to you and your partner, Brian.
.
Evening Jo
Just wondering how you are doing my forum buddy? Sending hugs Jules x

Hi Jules,
just noticed you'd posted on my thread in my email notifications. Thank you for thinking of me. I've been keeping a low profile of late - work is a bit manic with parents' evenings and the threat of an Ofsted inspection looming!
On the health front, the lung op I had anticipated in early April is no longer on the cards as my latest scan reults show multiple nodules in both lungs. The MDT decided that further lung surgery wouldn't be beneficial in extending my life. The next step is to wait 6 months and have a full body CT scan and see what's happening - there is a possibility of microwave ablation being offered as a treatment plan. My liver is still clear, so that's a positive. Ive just had a pelvic scan too, so awaiting those results is making me a bit twitchy!
Thankfully, we've a lovely family wedding to look forward to at the end of March!
I was pleased to see that your mum can stay in her current care home. That must be a great relief to have that sorted. I'll drop by on your thread to see what else you've been doing - Farmers' Market and cheese?
Well, it's a bit past my bedtime - the dog is looking a bit perplexed as he seems to know I've stayed up longer than usual! Thanks for the hugs which are greatly received and reciprocated, Jo xx
Well Jo, it sounds like you have your hands full with work. I remember how my late friend used to be when an Ofsted inspection was due - even though it always seemed to go well she would be a nervous wreck and up to her eyes! Thankfully this is a short term and you have both a wedding to celebrate and Easter hols in which to get some R & R..
Was sad to read your op is no longer an option - another fact to get your head round that you could do without but fingers crossed for the watch and wait and hope latest scan will be okay too. Good news on the liver front so a somewhat mixed bag for you to digest.
Take care forum buddy and thanks for finding the time to update. Am thinking of you. Jules x
