  • Hi thanks for the reply, can you pls tell me how your getting on? they have sent a sample of the cancer to Birmingham for testing for a new drug but only 10% can take it, how does the chemo effect you?

  • Hello, hope your mum is feeling not to bad today xxx. I had a drug which sounds like the type your mum will be offered and i was one of the ones it did help.

Lets hope that your mum will be suitable for it too.

It stopped working for me after 2 years and now i have had some radiotherapy to my lung and hip.

I have a scan in october..... i hope alls ok.

May have to have chemo  just have to wait and see.

    Good luck to your mum

  • HI thank you for the reply, she is having the stronger dose in two weeks, i am going with her to the local hospital, not really sure about it all but at least they are doing something quick, might be about 4 lots of treatment then if not radio, but one stage at a time,  xx

  • Thats great, good luck with the Chemo xxx Love Deb

  • Hi whats the chemo treatment like, as i we are not sure what to expect, but i know everyone is different and everycase is different. I have read all the side effects

  • I have not had Chemo yet..... i had a trial tablet for 2 years as my first line of treatment. This stopped working in June and since then i have had Radiotherapy, this was on my hip and also my lung....  In October i go back and see if i can have chemo.

Have a lovely weekend with your mum, spoil her with lots of hugs and kisses.

    Love Deb xxx

  • Hope all is going well, has the chemo started? x

  • Hi it starts this Thursday, but she has a lot of prepatration before then, me and my sister are going with her as she has to be in all day, and all very scary, she is proun to infections so i am trying to get rid of this cold before then, how are you? x

  • Thats great news x Chemo starts on Thursday.

What lovely Daughters to both go with your Mum.

I have a 4 weekly infusion in the Chemo room, Zolodronic Acid This helps strengthen my bones. My treatment is very short 30 mins or so but i do see people who have to have long treatments and after reading the paper and having a chat they seem to just be looking around at others or shutting their eyes and having a sleep, with the two of you i am sure that you will have lots of stuff to talk about and also get into conversation with others who may also have the same kind of cancer and treatments as your Mum.

I know they hospital try to make the chemo room nice and some have telly or radios to have some background noise, I think if you take a light thin type of blanket/shawl to cover her lap/legs it would be a nice comforting extra, then if your Mum has a snooze she will be all cosy.... just a thin one though cos it can be warm after a while.  Well good luck with Thursday, the start of getting your Mum some help x Thinking of you all, love Deb xxx
