Hi Redlizzie
I to have ovarian cancer diagnosed in Jan 2009. I had 3 lots of chemo, operation, and another 3 lots of chemo.
The main problems I had with the chemo were gross taste in mouth and nothing tasted like it should, neuropathy of fingers and feet, these got worse with each chemo, but taste improved after about 6 weeks, fingers and feet improved but I still have neuropathy in my left foot (and right but only when I walk!). Hair loss - very slow to grow back and now have corkscrew curls! Tiredness but only realised how bad once I returned to work!
Most of the complications I had with chemo have been rare ones but then I only got diagnosed with ovarian cancer due to a rare autoimmune disease! I developed arterial bloods clots (aortic settling in left Femeral artery) just before my 4th dose, had daily blood thining injections but still developed another clot 5 days after the 6th dose! The onchologist/haematologist aren't sure if its cancer or chemo related and they don't seem to have personally come across it before so please don't worry about it!
I would be interested in hearing about plans for followup when you get that far.
Best of luck
Jackie
Jackie,
I am worried about you as I have not heard anything from you and the other Ladies..xxxx
Hi Sharon,
Thanks for Christmas wishes..xxxx
I hope you have a lovely time and yes we all have a healthy new year........That is the main thing...xxxxx
Hi all,
got my results yesterday, cancer has gone from my left lung, abdomen is clear and all that is left is the lymph nodes in the centre of my chest, Doc said the chemo has shrunk it enough for them to be happy, CA125 is good, I am free now until March, when I will have another ctscan to ensure all is still ok. I am still struggling with this cold and have a pain in my back which made me think the worst, but the Doc is happy and I can relax wooooooo hooooooo.
I hope everyone is doing well, I wish you all a Happy Christmas, blessings to all.
Sharon it is good to hear from you, hugs to you, Eileen, Jackie and Rose

Hi Jackie,
Sorry you have a cold, they are so draining .Have you retired yet?Lots of time to go for walks in the summer.
Eileen, how are you? Hope you have managed to avoid infections so far this year.
Blue eyedgal, any news yet or is your appt.later on?
Sharon, hope you are getting on Ok and getting around now the snow has gone, very pretty but nice now it has gone.
And Dot,hw are you?Still made up after your news.Which chemo were you on?
I am picking up slowly.Actually drove to the dentist myself yesterday, only a mile but it is surprising how you loose your confidence so quickly.Still trying to put on the 1 1/2 stone that I lost 2 months ago but finding it really difficult.57 years of dieting and now Im trying to put weight on,Sods Law !! My clothes are all too big,I was walking up the stairs t my dentists and stood on the hem of my skirt and the skirt came down over my bum, started laughing which started me coughing so need to visit the sales before Im arrested for flashing !!New chemo seems Ok,scan end of month to see if it has worked but definitely getting a bit of energy back.f only I could breath I would be A 1 but after reading Dots story I am very hopeful.
Hope i havent missed anyone.
Take care girls

Hi Jackie & Ladies,
Happy New Year to all of us ....Sorry to hear you have a cold I just hope none of us gets that flu that is circulating.
I should have had my last chemo on Wed but didn't have it as I had earache for 3 days and was lightheaded. Anyway I said I didn't want the last one and the Dr had said he wouldn't push me for it. So I am waiting for the appointment in clinic and I expect he will send me for a scan... Fingers crossed everything will be fine.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas especially you Dot...
It will be nice to have no more chemo and Hospital appointments..
Keep in touch will chat soon now everything is back to normal xxxx Eileen.xx
