Ovarian Cancer

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Cancer in March and although we knew it was Cancer its still a shock to be told it. I have had 2  chemo cycles now and have my 3rd at the end of the month. I would love to chat about the chemo side affects to anyone..

  • Hi Rose,

Glad your back on here. I have really missed you all..xxxxxxxx

I am getting there now and can walk straight, as I was stooped over like an old lady ( what do you mean like ha ha ) Anyway the scar is from the belly button tight down to pubic bone as they did de- bulking or something. I will try the E45 cream as Jackie has just mentioned it earlier. I have recovered from that dreadful place yes thanks..

The house is lovely and I am itching to get the paint out and emulsion the walls before Christmas... Oh di I tell you ladies I have sold the house so fingers crossed and we could be meeting up in New Year..I do hope so... Its not to bad for me and you Rose as we could travel up to see the other ladies together. Remember my treat..xxx

Anyway I hope your mammogram results are ok. I must get another one sorted out for myself, but I thought that because we were having chemo that it would kill anything in the body..

Anyway lots of love as always Eileen xxx:love:

  • Hi Lizzie,

I too was diagnosed as having stage 3 ovarian cancer in April of this year. Since then, i have had 6 cycles of chemotherapy and debulking surgery in september .of this year. Life has not been plain sailing for me on chemotherapy, i was on taxol and carboplatin but after having a heart attack following my first dose, the oncologist decided that the taxol would have to be removed from my chemotherapy regime. I do hasten to add at this point , that it will never be proven as to whether it was the chemo that caused my heart attack or whether it was the cancer itself , Either way it happened on my 2nd day post chemo! This in itself has made all of us very dubious. Apart from the normal nausea, metallic taste in my mouth, fatigue etc. I have been fine since, thankfully! I hope that in 2 weeks time i will be having last my cycle of chemo and that everything has been successful.

I wish you and all those affected by this awful disease all the best xxxxx

  • Hi ladies hope your all well its been a while! im ok dont go to hospital again till 26th jan yippee!!!!!.

so i can enjoy xmas at least. without worrying speak to you soon big hugs.shaon xxxx

  • HELLO sorry not to have been on a while no not abducted by aliens but by builders !!!!!!!!

Since my op on the 21st in the end i had a total hysterectomy but laparoscopic so rather sore but not a big incision so did it by my belly button and 3 other places and then removed vaginally really a neat party trick but really cleaver.I was in 4 days as i got a urinary and chest infection all better now .I decided not to have the lymph glands removed as i was worried about all the side effect.s but i will have radiotherapy instead. My consultant says either way will do the trick i go next week to get my results so fingers crossed.

Feeling low today as our poor old cat was put down yesterday and on top of what's happening or not happening with my kitchen i.e. since being home we have had no cooker sink or washing machine it seemed the last straw

.He was a lovely ginger tom but really an old boy at 17 and the vet said he had cancer.and it was the kindest thing to do. Shame you can't do the same for humans when you see them failing . It makes me remember my son who died at19 .He had non hodgekins lymphoma burkitts like a rare and aggressive cancer we were devastated and i still am.SO sorry to go on a bit.Do hope you are all getting ok

                                         love liz x

  • Jackie,

I am worried about you as I have not heard anything from you and the other Ladies..xxxx

  • Hi Eileen,

Sorry have not been keeping intouch,I have been through a rough patch. The last treatment left me with a heart problem and I am seeing the heart specialist next month and my last scan shows it has spread to my lungs and possibly my ovary so I have been wiped out  but i am now on a new chemo, tablet again thankfully and apart from breathless and cough i feel much better,so onwards and upwards.Nearly 4 years on so cant complain.

Hope your house is nice and warm, you will need it soon when the snow comes.Went to Carmarthen the other day,it is lovely with all the new shops and easy to park..Hope you can get about now.

Plaxie and Dot,how are you both?

Love to all you other ladies here.Roll on next year, only good things ordered for 2011.

    Rose xxx

  • Rose,

It has been such a long time since I heard from any of you.I am so sorry about all you have been through. You are still happy as ever though as I can tell in your message.. Good for you ..xxx

I am 4 days now since my chemo and not too bad but the next few days will tell. I am hoping I can stay out of Hospital this time.Anyway keep in touch please and I hope Dot and Jackie are ok and anyone else I have left out.

Love you all so much... Eileen xxxxx

  • Hi Rose,

so sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch, you are always so supportive on here and I have never once heard you complain, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the new treatment will have you feeling better soon!!

I haven't been too good myself, I had chemo yesterday, I am on weekly chemo and these last few weeks have been hard going, but the good thing is next Friday is my last one, then two weeks after that the dreaded ctscan lol. The Docs wanted to drop one of my chemo's as I am having flashing lights and general lethargy, but I didn't want to mess around when this is almost done

A friend of mine is very poorly, we met in hospital and stayed in touch, she had the same as me and it knocked the wind out of my sails hearing how rapidly she has gone down hill.

    Dot xxxx

  • Hi Eileen,

sorry I haven't been on here, as you can see by my reply to Rose that I haven't exactly felt up to messing around on the computer, but I am hanging in there. It will be all over soon .

Fingers crossed you will stay well through this chemo and that any side effects if any, will be mild.

I hope Jackie is doing good, so unusual for her not to post.

    Love Dot xxxxxxxxx

  • Dear Dot,

I am so glad to hear from you  xxx

You have been missed so much. I am sorry to hear you are going through a bad time yet again.I hope you can continue to  fight to the end of the chemo and will be ok for Christmas.I wish Jackie would get in touch and hope she is well, but I fear she must be poorly as she is always on the site even when she has been really ill. So Jackie if you read this message we are all thinking about you and if your to ill to reply don't worry just know that your friends are all thinking about you..

Keep in touch if you can Dot and good luck to everyone else...

    Love as Always Eileen. xxxx
