Ovarian Cancer

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Cancer in March and although we knew it was Cancer its still a shock to be told it. I have had 2  chemo cycles now and have my 3rd at the end of the month. I would love to chat about the chemo side affects to anyone..

  • Hi everyone,

I rang up to make sure my scan had been looked at by the team and all is in order.

    Thanks Rose, thinking positive here.

Eileen, with me they took bloods, checked my breathing with the puffer thingy lol, just run of the mill type tests. Nothing to worry about, they did warn me I might have to go on treadmill but I didn't have to lol.

I will write again tomorrow and let you know how I got on.

    Love to all xxxxxxxxx

    woohoo everyone  good news!!

The tumour is barely visible, no referral to the lung team, there is a tiny shadow which they think is the remains of a chest infection, they are amazed at the results. They are continuing with the chemo but in reduced dosage, three weekly with a week of rest in between. They are concerned about the tinutis I am experiencing and the shins aching, they said it was best to do the reduced dosage.

So don't give up ladies, my prognosis was not good and here I am with great results.

    Thanks for thinking of me

    Dot xxxxxxxx

  • Excellent Dot, told you not to give up till the chemo had a chance but didn't expect it to work quite so well but am thrilled it has! I'm on a reduced dose to don't seem to make a diffference to the tumour and to easly to say if it improves the side effect symptoms! When's your next dose (I'm thinking Fri???). Have they changed your schedule? 3 weekly with a weeks rest sounds different to a dose every 3 weeks.

Eileen, glad you got to spend time with your new addition, nothing like a little 'un to cheer you up and wear you out!

Rose your positivity worked for Dot so keep praying for 'no bad news' weeks!

Will check in soon. take care everyone

    Love Jackie xxxx

  • Hi Jackie,

yes Friday is next chemo, so three weeks and a weeks rest, did I confuse you lol. I won't be sitting there for such long hours either, another bonus.

You did tell me to wait until chemo kicked in and you were right!!!

    Three cycles then another ctscan.

    Love Dot xxxxx
