  • Hello and welcome Julygirl,

sorry to hear you have to have more chemo, and maybe more surgery. Keep us posted about your hospital appointment results.

Losing my hair wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I have a wig which I have only worn once, everyone has got used to me without hair now lol.

It does help having others to talk to with similar problems.

  • Dear Dot,

I to am worried about Jackie as she is the strong one of the team, Hope she is ok ...I hope your not feeling to bad after chemo, I am dreading having mine again but it has to be done. I know what you mean about hearing yourself go on about not feeling well, I get on my own nervous but you have to tell someone. I have told David to go to see his friend in Berkshire next weekend as I think he needs a break from me... He is hesitant to go but I am very persuasive. Keep smiling dear Dot and where is your picture ???

  • Hi Ladies

I'm fine so please don't worry! Saw onc today and have had a 'good partial response to chemo'. He was pleased so must be good! Eyes still a major problem, got some 'tear drops' which the pharmasist says may wash them out, it works but only very short term. Onc says could be the tear ducts stenosised (scar tissue blocking outlet) if it don't clear supposed to get back in touch and he'll refer me to eye specialist. Following his discription of the treatment I think I'll keep my gob shut!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Judy, I'm on my second lot of treatment and as you can see am responding well so there's always hope, just hang in there through the waiting game and sound off here

Eileen when's your next lot of treament? I know you hate it but its what you have to do and hopefully it will be the last one.

Dot you should be hitting your 'good' phase now so hopefully are feeling better for a week or so! when do you get results of CT scan? Thought it was this week but feeling somewhat muddle headed

So sorry to hear about Jayne, how quickly it all progressed for her, I hope you Ben are coping ok as well as the remainder of Jaynes family. She had a very brave attitude which I can only hope to copy.

OK drops wearing off so better go

    Fingers crossed Dot and Judy

    Keep well

You look great Dot and I thought at first it was me Ha Ha.....Its nice to see you though joking apart.....Will message you tonight with results....Thank You for your lovely message and Jackie, Rose, and girls.....

  • Hi Dot & Girls,

Well I got my appointment for October 4th I go in Oct 3rd which is a Sunday, to as they say Dot empty your bowels....I thought yeah right you will need me a week to clear them Ha Ha.... I had an internal again and a rectum internal ( lovely days we ladies get to spend ) Anyway glad its over with and I have a few weeks rest...So who is next for the Hospital ??? You have the 17th Dot for scan but I have forgot who is next...I wish we could all meet up you know, I bet we would have a laugh..Anyway my house is up for sale so if it sells quickly I will pay for us all to stay in a posh hotel and that's a deal ...

    Love as always Eileen. xxxx:love:

  • Another step nearer.Thank goodness that part is over for you,Which hospital will you be going to?

Have a few days of spoiling yourself, you deserve it ;)

    Rose xxx

  • Hi Eileen,

so pleased you have your date and a nice rest beforehand!! I laughed at the emptying of the bowels, believe me you won't have a problem haha. I was admitted at 2pm and the first thing they did was give me a dose of jollop lol. It is good to see you in such a happy mood.

I would love to meet you all and hopefully one day we will

    Time to enjoy yourself

    Love Dot xxx

  • Hi Ladies

Eileen you got a date! Do you know if they are planning any chemo after it or is that all over with now? I somehow managed to avoid the internal and had no bowel prep! strange how they all do it differently!

Eyes are streming again but its cos I've got a cold! Chemo due Fri, not that it stopped them giving it on a previous occassion

hope you manage to enjoy your time till Oct, get down and see your new grandchild maybe???

    Take care everyone

    Jackie xxxxx

  • Hi Ladies,

Jackie, yes I have to have 2 or 3 more chemo after but at least I know then its finished. I hope your eyes improve and your cold. Its strange as you say how they do things different. The Surgeon did say that he can only tell me if its gone when he opens me up so its still a waiting game. He is or seems to be a very honest Dr. He always asks if he may examine me and doesn't say right lets examine you as alot have done in the past. How long after your first cancer was it Jackie when it returned again ? I don't know about you ladies but as time goes on I don't feel scared, its like you come to except it...

Dot thank you for the email it was a lovely thought. You are such a lovely lady and I wish I had met you years ago as with all of you.... The Surgeon did say I will have to drink some awful stuff but Hey Ho, at least it should empty the bowels... I am looking forward to the op but it means I can't do any chats on here. I will have my phone with me though so I will have a look to see how you can do emails as its a new phone ..As I said as well the Hotel break is still on the cards or if your not up to it any of you then I will come to you......Fingers crossed then for a sale on the house... Rose I will be at Singleton on ward 20.... Its a pain to get to as in trying to find any department in there...I am not sure if I told you yesterday that I had to have bloods taken and a chest X-ray and also an ESG not sure if you all had to have them. I woould have thought that would be done the day before the operation. Anyway ladies that's all for now... Love Eileen. xxxxxxx
