I was diagnosed with Cancer in March and although we knew it was Cancer its still a shock to be told it. I have had 2 chemo cycles now and have my 3rd at the end of the month. I would love to chat about the chemo side affects to anyone..
I feel for you having to have spent that long at the Hospital, Its a very long day but as you say it makes it pass quicker. Glad you got the Scan at last and lets hope its very good news for you. When will you know the results ? I am not doing to good as the side effects have kicked in with the sore legs and joints so will have to see what Monday brings. ( Its normally when I end up in Hospital ) I am thinking I may be in as when I had the Chemo blood count was 1.6 and if it had been 1.5 then they wouldn't have done it, so I scraped through this time. Not sure why it keeps happening but at least its working so I can put up with it.

I am so sorry to hear about the side effects, it is awful that you feel so poorly, I do hope you don't have to go into hospital. They do say it affects people in different ways, just hard for you to go through it. You are being positive about it all and that is the best way to be, I will be thinking of you!!!
I have no idea when I will find out about the tests, but they said chemo would start shortly after that. Can't say I am in a hurry for it lol.
I really do feel for you, fingers crossed that you get through it without a hospital stay
I am a young at heart, 48 year old lady who was only last week diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I was supposed to be having a total hysterectomy on Tuesday 13th July. However, my CT scan showed that the cancer has spread to my abdominal area. Therefore, my surgeon wants to do a laparoscopy on the 13th instead to determine where exactly the cancer has spread to. I will then have three lots of chemotherapy followed by the hysterectomy and then another three lots of chemotherapy. This has been a total shock to me as I have been led to believe that my abdominal pain for the last 6 months was due to my fibroids. I am scared. Jayne xxx
Hello ladies I have only just found this chat page and having read the posts can really identify with you all.
My first experience of Cancer was way back in 2001 when I was diagnosed with stage 2C Ovarian. I had a full hysterectomy, removal both ovaries and omentum. I then underwent 6 3 weekly chemotherapy sessions of taxol and carboplatin. It was hard at first when the 3 weekly appointments went to 6 then 12weeks then 6months then yearly. It did get easier as time went on and I knew it was only a phone call away if I had any problems.
I have had a full and active life since until the bombshell in November last when having a few problems going to the loo bowelwise I mentioned it at my yearly checkup. Scan followed confirming a tumour in pelvic area followed by exploratory op in Feb which showed I would need a colostomy. March 10th came and I underwent the op. No colostomy as the tumour was attached to the bowel and bladder and there were signs in the peritineum. It was decided after much discussion whilst I was on the table to repair a hernia which I had developed, take the top off the tumour and drain. I have made a good recovery from the op and am due to have my 4th chemo on 14th July - taxol and carbo again. I have also opted to go on a trial for a new drug so am monitored a little bit more with more frequent follow ups and scans in the next 18 months.
I'm trying to remain positive and it sounds as though you all are.
We seem to be forming quite a community! Welcome to the new ones but also sorry you have ended up here. Hope your doing OK Eileen and have avoided being admitted. The appoinment on Tues may not involve an internal as they already know what they are dealing with thanks to the CT scans, its more likely to involve details of what they will do and when they will do it (usually leave it about a month post chemo) so fingers crossed for you.
Have been busy and therefore left it to long to log on and now can't remember what everyone has said! Have my sister over till wed then will have more time to keep up and get all the threads straight in my head (hopefully :) ).
Things sound like they are all moving in the right direction so hang in there everyone.

Welcome to the group, I am sorry things didn't go as planned for you, I totally understand how you are feeling. I will keep you in my thoughts tomorrow.
I didn't find out until after my op that I had cancer although they did say it was very likely it would be, I am waiting for chemo, which should be some time this week. I had another CT scan last week and I met this lovely lady in her forties, she didn't find out she had cancer until it was very advanced but it was three years since her diagnosis and she was still very positive and made me feel a lot better. She looked really good and it has made me feel more optimistic.
Welcome to you too Hilary, Awful that you have to go through it all again, as you said being positive is the only way to deal with all of this, you have been going through this longer than me so I can only be here to support and not advise.
