Hi kmac, great to know you're doing a book. I'd be really interested in a copy as I have a small website on skin cancer (based on my mum's experience ) that I am beginning to write. I'd love to know more about other peoples anxieties and how they coped, as my mum and I went to hell and back when she was diagnosed.
Would love more information from you with a view to perhaps having it available via a link on my site when it's done? I presume you'll use clickbank or likewise?
If thats of interest, please post back. I won't post any links or my email address in case I break the rules (did that earlier and someone instantly reported me, although the moderator is lovely and did apologise for having to remove it).
Best of luck with it!
Hi Mandyhurell,
For your information it is acceptable to post an e-mail address on this site using AT instead of the usual symbol also web site links so long as you are not advertising products etc. I hope this helps. Rodis.
Thanks ever so much for the information Rodis...this seems like such a welcoming forum.
My mum is also a retired RGN and has beaten melanoma twice, I'm so pleased that your treatment was successful too.
Thanks Mandy - pleased to help at any time. I am a regular on here except when fundraising takes over periodically!! I wish you well. Rodis.
Oh, talking about fundraising, I've just come across the squidoo website where aparantly you can donate to specific charities by building interesting webpages that get lots of visitors. I think this may be a great idea and wonder about doing one and donating the proceeds to cancer research? ...even if it is only a few pounds every little helps? As I am now considered high risk for melanoma because of my family history, I'd be reassured to know maybe by then there could be some advances in treatment because of money raised. Who knows.
Just my thoughts anyway.
Mandy
Hi Mandy,
Just looked at the web site you mention, it is American and seems it may be difficult to do for this country/charity. I have logged on just to see how it is all done. Will keep you posted. Rodis.
Hi Mandyhurrell,
thanks for your message, hope you had a good weekend too
you should definately get rechecked by the doctor you like and trust as otherwise you will just put it to the back of your mind and worry about it. Don`t stop til you get a satisfactory answer. With your family history, any doctor that just sends you away, is just being lazy!! Good luck.
No message from Ellie33, how did it go, we are all thinking of you.
Cheers Britlass x
sorry for not messaging sooner, but i guess i just forgot,i was too happy that 2 of my 3 were deffo fine and the other one was most likely fine, but i have to go back in two weeks to have i checked when there isnt a scab on i
elliexx
Gosh, that really is GREAT news!
I can't imagaine how relieved you feel, I'm so pleased. Good luck for when you go back, but I'm sure it will be ok.
Out of general interest, did your doc say why your moles were itching and bleeding at all?
Really pleased that things look good for you ellie33. Think it really goes to show how important it is not to keep stuff to yourself and fret over it. Things are usually not as bad as they seem.
well done for sorting it all out
