  • Hello, My grandad had skin cancer on his temple, he had an operation to remove it a couple of years ago and the doctors said he was all clear but he developed it on his hands and yet no doctor diagnosed it! he passed away last november. My mum now also has skin cancer and is now going to have an op to remove hers.

I get paranoid now cos cancer runs in both my family and my fiance's family so i'm always checking him for the slightest mark ( it annoys him but he understands lol).

I hope everyone gets the all clear soon

  • Hi,

I had a malignant melanoma five years ago and several further abnormal growths which were successfully removed and I was thankfully given all clears after wider excisions. Earlier this year I had a suspected basal cell carcinoma and something else that looked similar to an abnormal growth I had last year. I decided I didn't want more surgery and wanted to stop the abnormal growths/ suspected cancers from appearing and managed to heal naturally from this so was able to cancel my biopsies.

I don't think there's anything wrong with surgery if that's what you choose. We're all different and we'll do what feels right for us, however I now feel very passionate about helping people to gain perspective, understand their options and to choose a path that's right for them so I'm writing an e-book on how to cope with and heal from skin cancer.

Would anyone be willing to share what their big questions or what their anxieties are/ have been when you've either been scheduled for biopsies for suspected skin cancer or been given a diagnosis?

Many thanks and very warm wishes to everyone for all clears and being cancer free for good

  • Hi kmac, great to know you're doing a book. I'd be really interested in a copy as I have a small website on skin cancer (based on my mum's experience ) that I am beginning to write. I'd love to know more about other peoples anxieties and how they coped, as my mum and I went to hell and back when she was diagnosed.

Would love more information from you with a view to perhaps having it available via a link on my site when it's done? I presume you'll use clickbank or likewise?

If thats of interest, please post back. I won't post any links or my email address in case I break the rules (did that earlier and someone instantly reported me, although the moderator is lovely and did apologise for having to remove it).

    Best of luck with it!

  • Hi Mandyhurell,

For your information it is acceptable to post an e-mail address on this site using AT instead of the usual symbol also web site links so long as you are not advertising products etc. I hope this helps. Rodis.
