Feeling fed up

I normally post on here and try my best to help support others.  Last night I felt like giving up.  I have had stomach pain for nearly three weeks after last Denosumab injection.  Had headache and felt so nauseous.  I am normally so very positive and I never give up.  Sometimes it gets me down looking at the future of hospital visits and constant medication.  I know I am lucky and I know tomorrow the clouds will go and the sun will shine.  Just sometimes it is sh-t.

  • Morning Leelaloo

Just wanted to post to say that you are absolutely right - sometimes it is sh-t. It's ok to have days when you just want to throw in the towel and say ... well, words that would probably get me barred even as a moderator lol

Hopefully tomorrow will be a little lighter, but don't forget that our nurses are available if it would help to bend someone's ear. Sometimes being able to offload and chat things through can be quite cathartic. If you ever want to speak with them, they're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Sending my very best wishes for a sunnier day soon.

  • Hello Lee

    First a big virtual hug.

I really feel what you are going through, its not just sometimes it is sh_ it. Its full time, everyday sh-it. I put on a brave face I tell everyone I'm top of the world to spare their feelings. OK I can function quite well albeit with pain but inside Im reminded that everything is not quite right. Recent scan is good with no progression in spine but new areas of cancer in pelvis and small lung nodule. The hospital visits over 100 in the last 2 years are more wearying than the 36 infusion treatments. You mentioned some time ago that. the hospital had changed the brand of Denosumab Xgeva to another biosimilar drug and you had problems since then. I noticed my last Denosumab injection I had was from a different looking pre filled syringe. I have not noticed any new symptoms. Is you stomach pain related to the cancer in your spine or do you think it is related to the Denosumab. I finish immunotherapy quite soon but am assured that its effect will be enduring. This makes me quite anxious but the Denosumab will continue for life. I hope that tomorrow brings some uplifting experience to bring a smile to your face and some hope for the future.

My break to Brittany although tiring was just what I needed, mostly sunny warm days gentle sightseeing with a visit to old friends. Looking forward to Autumn woodland walks harvesting potatoes, squashes and late flush vegetables in the kitchen garden and preparing ground for new crops. The yearly cycle keeps me alive and kicking.

Dont throw in the towell or give up Lee there are more good experiences to be had even though today is sh_it.
