Neuroendocrine cancer

Good afternoon everyone. Is there anyone on this forum who has, like me, been diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer of the small intestine and is receiving lanreotide injections ? I am about to get my second injection and I am wondering what I can expect from future injections. I had a horrendous reaction to the first one. Any comments would be gratefully received.

  • Welcome to the forum,  Ross-B.

I’m sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer of the small intestine and that you had a horrendous reaction to your first lanreotide injection, it sounds like it must have been quite frightening, and it is completely understandable that you are now wondering what to expect from the injections that follow.

As this touches on your specific treatment and how your body might respond, it might be a good idea to contact your medical team as they can give you a better picture considering your history. Alternatively, feel free to reach out to our team of nurses, they’re available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm if there are any medical-related more general questions you have.

In the meantime, I do hope some of our members here who have been through lanreotide treatment themselves will pop by and share their own experiences with you, as hearing from others who have walked a similar path can often be reassuring in a way that nothing else quite is.

Wishing you all the best for your second injection, and please do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
