Life with cancer - getting more emotional and frustrations with appointments

  1. Emotions are nearer the surface than before.  Am finding getting weepy far easier, dogs on the C4 programme 'The Dog House'.  Articles, books, news broadcasts
  2. Appointments.  Had a phone call at 14:30 last Thursday from the hospital.  Where are you?  I said why.  You have an appointment.  I said no I haven't.  Apparently it was at 14:00.  I knew nothing about it.  No phone call, email, letter nothing.  The medical team at the hospital are excellent  doctors nurses xray ct staff etc.  Admin - one hospital so many different ways of making an appointment.  One dept - phone email on line notification.  Another uses phone and letter  they say don't email.  Another a letter out of the blue for an appointment in June but no reason why on the letter.  Then this last one.  If they could phone to ask why I wasnt there why couldn't they phone to let people know in the first place!  One hospital seemingly without any joined up admin support.

  • Hi MrsBlueSky,

I noticed your post hadn't had a reply yet so thought I'd reply to give it a little boost. I'm sure that what you describe is relatable to lots of others on here.

It sounds very difficult with all the confusion with getting notifications for appointments so I can understand this being frustrating. Hopefully this won't keep happening.

I can see you received a reply from our moderator Lucie to one of your recent posts. I hope you're finding the forum useful as a way of writing things down and connecting with others.

    Wishing you all the best,
