  • Hi Larowe,

Just wondering how you’re getting on with the portacath after having it for a while- so I know what to expect!

I had mine fitted three weeks ago and the first time they used it (3 days after having it implanted) hurt a lot! But as Toni2025 said below, they now tell me to numbing cream up prior to coming in and today it didn’t hurt at all.

I was wondering about swimming with it like you mentioned, have you found it’s ok?

    Thanks ️
