  • Hi again Lorraine

Cancer in the bones is certainly miserable and painful. You need to contact your oncology team at the hospital for advice on the options available. Your GP can also help with this. At present I take just paracetamol and Naproxen occasionally codeine. but can contact the hospital if stronger opiod drugs are required. I have had a lot of tips from member leelalou on managing pain other than drugs. So daily excercise to keep muscle tissue supporting the bones, walking is good, if you swim even better.  A heat pad if sitting for periods of time for example watching TV. A decent pillow dedicated to your sleep position eg side sleeper back sleeper and a decent mattress both of these make a huge difference for sleep quality and how you cope with the following day. Although you no longer take denosumab keeping up you intake of Calcium and Vitamin D3 is also beneficial. Hope there is something in here that is useful.

  • Thankyou that is so helpful.

  • Hi Ed.  It is almost 2am and the pain is keeping me awake.  I have a hospital appt. later today, so I will ask my oncologist my o[toons for controlling the pain.  My question is HOW do you cope with it?  A stupid question I know, but  I feel so desperate.  I have just taken another paracetamol, which seems to have helped slightly, but not enough that I can get to sleep.  Sorry if I appear to be weak and pathetic, but the pain is driving me crazy.
