Hello
I have a difficult choice to make. Should I go with surgery or radiotherapy and chemo for my muscle invasive bladder cancer.
Does anyone have any experience of either and the pros and cons please.

Hi VivM,
This is a very difficult choice to have to make and it's important to find out as much as possible about your different options so that you can make an informed decision. There is detailed information on our website on treatment for muscle invasive bladder cancer where you can read more about the main treatment options for muscle invasive bladder cancer including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. It's not easy to weigh all the pros and cons and I hope that your medical team can guide you as much as possible so that you make the right decision for you.
If you needed to talk things through with our cancer nurses, they have a free helpline you can ring on 0808 800 4040 - it is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. They will be happy to answer questions you might have and point you in the right direction to help you understand what is involved for each treatment option.
I hope you will hear from the experiences of others on here who have been in your position and had to face similar treatment choices. Westat3 posted this thread on being unable to have surgery for muscle invasive bladder cancer and KatherineB posted last year this thread as they were about to have surgery last year - don't hesitate to respond if you would like to do so. These are just a couple of examples and I hope that I will be joined by many other members who have been in a similar place before and that they will share their experience with you.
Best wishes,
