Bone and joint pain after chemo and filgastrim. Has anyone else experienced this?

At the end of each session of Chemo I had this injection for 7 days with filgrastim. After 5th injection I had unbearable bone pain. Although I finished the Chemotherapy 1 year ago, I still struggle with the bone pain. It’s not as severe as when I was having the injection, but it’s still persistent. I would like to know if there any others who still have this bone and joint pain after the injection with severe pain

thank you

  • Hi Marina,  I had chemo and the injections for 7days afterwards as well.  I was wondering if you were on tamoxifen or letrozole or something like that, as these can cause severe joint/bone pain.  I had this pain for about the first two years and gradually it did get better.

  • Hi Lee,  thank you for your message. I have the zoladex and Letrazol first 6 months and because of the pain they have charged with Tamoxifen. The pain is still there . Two years…. So sorry. The pain is horrible

  • Hi Marina  I am now on Exemastane and the pain has got better.  Maybe your oncologist can look at this.  I also find strangely enough that if I keep busy and make myself go for a walk the pain eases off.   When I sit down the pain is worse and all my joints hurt.  Also maybe they can look at doing a bone scan for you.  Take care.

  • I was yesterday to oncology and they stopped Tamoxifen for 8 weeks and having a blood test first to see if I go to menopause and see from there what treatment can give me. I’m very active all day. I’m working 8 hours plus I have a granddaughter 2 years old who keeps me very busy
