Wendyj - trying to get my head round things after treatment has finished

Had breast cancer, and just finished all my treatments, chemo, surgery and radiotherapy,

Been given all clear, but no one explains how you feel when it's all over..

Can't wrap my head around what has just happened. Does this happen often?

  • I think this is a very common response at the end of treatment. I remember being very tearful. I think you need to give yourself time to process the trauma your mind and body have endured over the last few months.
Now is the time to reflect and convalesce. Be kind to yourself. I bought loads of books on self care.
I can recommend, The Cancer Survivor’s Companion by Dr Frances Goodhart and Lucy Atkins , it really helped me understand my thoughts post treatment

    Good luck with your recovery
