Active surveillance - just been placed on this and struggling with my cancer diagnosis. Can anyone put my mind at ease?

I have just been placed on active surveillance and struggling to get my head around being told that I have cancer.

can anyone that has been on this journey put my mind at rest.

  • Hi Trooper1957,

A warm welcome to our community. I assume you have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and I thought I would share with you the information we have on our website on active surveillance for prostate cancer. It must have been a bit of a shock for you to be given a cancer diagnosis and there is a lot for you to take in at the moment. You are not alone though and I hope that you will hear from others here who have been on this journey before and who have also been place on active surveillance. I did a little bit of digging around the forum for past threads from members who were also offered active surveillance and thought I would mention this thread on active surveillance for prostate cancer by  who posted over a year ago and who was at the time also reaching out to others who were on active surveillance for prostate cancer. Don't hesitate to drop them a line on their thread if you wish to do so. Hopefully you will hear from others on here who have been in a similar place before and they will be happy to put your mind at rest and offer reassurance.

Feel free also to give our cancer nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they will be happy to answer questions you might have on active surveillance and talk things through with you.

    Best wishes,
